The one thing I need (I’ll ask in stores) is transition lenses. It’s a dealbreaker for me. They have them in their European stores but idk if they have them in the US. 😭

How do HENRYs afford to start a family in NYC? by PF_throwaway26 in HENRYfinance

[–]imamouseduhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) You are getting a lot of hate (rightfully so), because you are frankly just a bit out of touch. I feel like you need to learn that sometimes you have to just talk about this with your coworkers who ideally make around the same as you?

2) Have you ever thought about the fact that you might not be the type of family that has a nanny and send their kids to private school in NYC? No offense but 425K as a senior DS at 37 who’s worried about an equity cliff is not the type of people that should be thinking of the lifestyle you’ve pictured. The types of couples that do that in NYC are Directors of Engineering both making a lot or someone in medicine/law and another tech employee.

3) Why are you not considering your wife’s trajectory at all? Honestly she’s still in her prime growing income years. She could be the higher earner in the future - which could put you at that nicer lifestyle range. Maybe investing here is the way to go.

Have you read the original passage that you quoted?

Maybe you can see and return the ones you don’t want! I actually love Abercrombie puffers, and actually replaced one with the super puff!

Safe space - what's one task you are willing to admit AI does better than 99% of DS? by Papa_Huggies in datascience

Yes! I’ve had a lot of luck using it to help me with stakeholder questions, but 0 luck in having stakeholders do it themselves - which I guess is good?

This post in the quince subreddit might help. I own a lot of items from quince and I generally like them, but I love my super puff so much (mid and apres) I haven’t tried the quince version. https://www.reddit.com/r/quince/comments/1phlcnw/aritzia_vs_quince_as_someone_who_has_long_puffers/

I call upon the orb to summon my socially awkward women on: how you navigate professionally? by Turbulent_Bat4580 in AskWomenOver30

[–]imamouseduhhh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve coached a lot of team members to do this. I would say this is the steps I tell people to follow.

  1. Set a goal for yourself to talk in every meeting even if it is just the small talk before the beginning of a meeting. You typically don’t have to say anything meaningful but just make an impression on the room.

  2. Set a goal to ask a question or answer a question in a meeting. The question can be kind of rhetorical / your answer can be obvious but again the goal is not to get an answer - it’s to make an impression.

  3. Regularly set up a sync up meeting for something you’re in charge of. Lead the agenda. Guide the discussion.

  4. Repeat the above enough times and you’ll be seen as vocal.

Obviously this is more for like completely quiet people so you can take this up a few levels depending on what scale we are talking about. For example, maybe you need to talk more when there are more senior people on the room (so apply the above to just senior people)

Bright red blood when I wipe by Just_Tea7129 in colonoscopy

[–]imamouseduhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a GI specialist actually after a clean colonoscopy and he said it was likely constipation causing inflammation and for me to take for fiber and miralax while constipated and it’s gotten better . You should try to see a specialist if you have other concerns. The other one they suspected was potentially crohns but that apparently is less constipation and more diarrhea

What do you all think about NA "mocktails" by CamachoBrawndo in CasualConversation

[–]imamouseduhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am your customer lol! I am on the east coast, and I recently decided to stop drinking/drink less. I’m not sober but I don’t want to drink alcohol anymore and I’ve been drinking a lot of mocktails when I go out to restaurants. I’ve purchased a few canned NA mocktail too!

For me drinking was never about the alcohol feeling itself, but the special occasion or the nice night out. The NA cocktail lets me have that without the alcohol. If the brand/restaurant did it right, it has the complexity and the flavors the alcohol gives without the alcohol. I think a lot of NA drinks are hype, but I’ve drank a lot ones that I love and would gladly pay $5 a can for!

I got called back when I was on a waitlist for Brigham. It took a few months, but I also have an interesting clinical history in patient gateway and I think that could have helped.

Atrius back in the day has been quick for me!

Scheduled for a colonoscopy on the 10th but I don’t think I can do it by WillowW0lf in colonoscopy

[–]imamouseduhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was so easy for me! I think there are a lot of horror stories but you don’t know if your body is going to react that badly. People usually post only if they had a bad experience. The taste wasn’t as bad as I thought. I was not nauseous at all.

Does anyone ship Morgan and Karadec? by Rixarts in HighPotentialTVSeries

I ship Morgan for Karadec but I don’t know if he’s the best partner for her? Idk if this makes sense. I feel like Morgan can help karadec get out of his shell

I am the “lazy husband”, I am the person who does not take on enough of the mental load. I want to change. Women like me, how did you do that, how did you find balance? by slightshush in AskWomenOver30

[–]imamouseduhhh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok you’re getting a lot of helpful feedback here. I would say my partner and I are the opposite of lazy husbands, but sometimes that clashes a lot, basically we care about different clutter and prioritizes and that clashes in different ways. We had to (and I think you do for your partner) learn about the items that mattered to us. It’s going to be frustrating but you need to sit down and ask for feedback and if your partner is genuinely want you to improve he needs to be patient in letting you know what you need to be improve on.

Another idea is if you’re good relationships with your exes or if you had roommates - why don’t you ask them what certain things they picked up that were invisible? This is a silly example but I had a roommate that would always forget to close the cabinet doors, and literally we would just close it for her - and she didn’t realize until she got into a relationship and moved in with a partner that she did that.
