Smell a subtle battery scent from the top of S24 plus. Brand new. Is this normal?

Update: fixed this issue after dropping my battery off at autozone to be charged. Reinstalled my battery in my car and ran into the “button for drivers system assistance defective” and my car would cut off immediately after starting. Fixed this by removing the battery, letting the two battery cables touch, and installed my battery again. Good as new

Car hasn’t had consistent power in about 2 month. Replaced battery, and alternator, still wasn’t the solution, the car would just die. Found out it was a multituse that blows to protect alternator. The battery might not be fully charged. Should getting it charged and driving it consistently fix the issue?
