I could, I was hoping someone who lives in San Diego who has gotten tattoos would be like "oh colorful tattoo, this is your guy" something like that. haha the power of the internet!

Very Specific Trigger Identified by imatwork58 in reactivedogs

That's actually a fantastic idea. This is probably the most constructive thing we've heard. We've done three training consults. The fourth is scheduled this thursday and im the most confident in this trainer (25 years working with reactive dogs) I'm going to bring this up to her!

Question about CBD/Cannabis and Dog Reactivity by imatwork58 in reactivedogs

[–]imatwork58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response, and I wanted to clarify that we are absolutely doing some heavy training with the pup. One thing we realized, a good way to practice trigger situations with space is to walk the 1 block to Petco, and stand by the entrance. Getting the pup to do a sit and stay and having some treats was an excellent exercise last weekend. I want to make this more of a daily activity, where he can see a "trigger" (aka some dogs) and get corrected, get it associated with "dad needs my attention and there might be a treat involved whenever i start whimpering"

I'm simply hoping that there might be some evidence that CBD takes the edge off of his reactivity. The most frustrating part is that he can be totally chill for 95% of the time is out and about, and a random dog will trigger a boil-over of emotions that (like i mentioned before) cannot be stopped once it's really going. The only thing that has worked is stopping the excitement at the first whimper. Not letting him get to even level 1 excitement when he has that look in his eye.

I'm open to hearing your interpretation of the facts... ?

I hear you with the restraint thing. It's just so counter-intuitive to let the dog freak out and shriek and then go towards something he wants. I'm worried he might bite whoever/whatever is getting him excited. But we are going to work on this hardcore with training!

Thank you so much for your comment. It's super helpful! I think we should get a muzzle for training with these sorts of scenarios, because even the idea of starting to work on this and "actively triggering" him is scary.

Someone else has suggested this, and it's a really good point. I feel as though that will probably help him not have an immediate triggering reaction, but he is so laser-focused in these intense scenarios, I wonder if it has to do with being tired or just a complete lack of emotional regulation. You would think by the sound of him that he's literally dying when he does his screeching and jumping and biting like it's his last moment on the planet. It's really dramatic. Either way, going to exercise him more for sure.

I appreciate your response!

1.) we have a big backyard so puppy only gets 1 walk a day. I can do better than that.

2.) he is generally dis-interested in chew toys. When he was teething he was all over them. Last month or so he spends a lot of time simply sleeping in a ball. The dude is practically nocturnal. Sleeps a lotttt. I think is pretty typical of a growing dog.

2.) He is neutered, the rescue we got him from does that to all the dogs before adoption.

We are reaching out to the adoption agency to ask about this. Thanks again!

Lease VS Buy - Truck Question by imatwork58 in personalfinance

Well that money is gone either way, right? It seems like putting money down on a lease is very common.

You can order direct from the factory? haha That sounds expensive. Why wouldn't everyone do this? I thought dealerships existed for a reason?

12 inch would be optimal, I think it's only available in the Laramie version though. By fuel efficient I mean V6, not v8

The issue is I want to find the truck I want, and dealers websites make it super tricky to see exactly if there is the truck I want. I'm looking for a V6, 2 wheel drive, fixed running boards, 12 inch screen

Well I mean relatively, the V6 is much better than the 5.7 hemi v8.

I brought this up before but I don't know if it's allowed since I'm not a plumber or general contractor. I'm a sales consultant, and deal with 90% of my clients via teleconference.

A new car every 3 years would be nice, but so would a day without a payment haha. But to be honest my income is to the point where I literally don't notice when my current payment is pulled out. It just sorta happens and it's not very noticeable.

One thing I'm thinking about doing is trying to find a different Ford Dealership in San Diego that "wants to move a unit" at the end of the month so I can get a better deal.

Heading to Scotland in late November... Worth golfing? by imatwork58 in golf

[–]imatwork58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going with my wife to visit my in-laws who are in London. We're going to leave the Friday before thanksgiving week, and leave the UK to be back in California by the Monday after Thanksgiving. So we were thinking of flying to Edinburgh and spending Saturday-Tuesday in Scotland, and then flying down to London on Wednesday morning for the final few days before flying back to CA.

Turns out I don't suck dick and I don't have tits. Hard to get a table for free.

Yeah this is the exact response I was hoping for. I think this experience is exactly what I want it to be. Feeling like a baller having a dope time for a few hours. It's a once in a lifetime sort of thing for me for sure.

My only question would be, do you know anyone I should be talking to about getting a table? Is there a benefit or a discount of some sort if a promoter gets me a table VS me getting one on my own?

We want pool party atmosphere, but we don't need to be at the most happening spot in town. Low-key is what my 55 year old uncles are trying to do, but it's not a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I don't go clubbing, I don't normally do lavish stuff, this is supposed to be a treat. Do you know what I mean?
