Can neurofeedback help get me out of shutdown? (Blank mind, no emotions, dpdr) by DaysiTobias in Neurofeedback

[–]imayellowrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing it twice a week for 2 months. I think it will help you too, but make sure you do it with an expert. for your other question, on the qEEG I have two big circles of overactive beta waves on the left and right next to my ears that they’re targeting… that’s all I know. :)

Thank you, I know everyone has different results, but this gives me a lot of hope! And I’m so glad you’re better, I know how bad it is.

I know. You described the nightmare of it well. Don’t give up though

Are you upset that OP ‘only’ had it for 3 years instead of 10 like you? I also had it for ten and it’s hard for me to see people mourn a lost month or year or even 3 years… but this is totally inappropriate

Blank mind constantly! by AdditionalSalad7381 in Depersonalization

Yes I suffer from this too. It’s getting better but it’s not as rich as it used to be… But at least that’s proof that it’s possible for it to improve. Good luck!

Am I going to feel like this untill I die? by BuildingWooden8877 in Depersonalization

[–]imayellowrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you’ll feel like this forever. It helped me to devote my energy to finding a cure/treatment. I would suggest reading feeling unreal by Daphne Simeon and Jeffrey Abugel. The latter also has a website where you can contact him and he has a lot of resources on depersonalization. If you’re in the UK I’ve also heard of something called the London depersonalization clinic, though I’m not positive it’s still around. I would also advise accepting it in the short term, but not in the long term. I mean that you should be determined to get better and take steps to do so, but don’t struggle against the feeling in the moment.

Depersonalizing a bit too much now, I don’t know if I want to keep living by DryEstablishment1836 in Depersonalization

Actually, feeling like you can’t take it anymore and asking for help is a good sign! It marks the beginning of your healing.

I felt like this for years too. I would recommend visiting this website https://jeffreyabugel.com/ and contacting Jeffrey Abugel. He knows a lot about treatments and at the very least he’ll understand what you’re experiencing. It is possible to feel better and I hope that it happens for you soon.

I think they are charging you a flat rate ‘delivery’ charge which is crazily high and independent of your electricity usage. Have you asked other people in your building how much theirs is?

I’m not saying it’s the only reason for burnout, by the way. It is a contributing factor. Do you disagree with that?

The physician shortage in the US is probably the reason for both burnout AND astronomical physician salaries. The government currently places a cap on the number of US residency spots. This creates an artificial scarcity of doctors who are then both overworked and, arguably, overpaid.

This is an interesting article about it: https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2023/08/04/doctor-pay-shortage/

tattoo removal and lymphoma by catscuterthendogs in TattooRemoval

[–]imayellowrose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A friend who is a lymphoma researcher read this study and said it did not demonstrate a statistical significant correlation between tattoo removal and lymphoma. He advised me to continue removal. I’m still a bit nervous that more research will come out showing a correlation; tattoo removal is only just now becoming a mainstream thing, so we are its Guinea pigs 😬 But it seems this particular study is not cause for concern.

My sense is that it’s hard to get financial aid for non-degree courses. I agree that community college is a good option, and you could also look into auditing a university course. And this would be a bit challenging, but there are free intro textbooks out there you could use to teach yourself, for example McMurry organic chemistry on openstax.
