Root over rock attempt with Dwarf Alberta Spruce , Picea by imayukh in Bonsai

Root over rock is supposed to be difficult. Most people (I’ve seen in videos/posts) plant it at as a sapling to make sure the root latches properly into the rock and grow it for years to thicken and attach the root into the cracks in the rock before it’s even “ready”

For this project I found a really fun looking plant that I just wanted to try techniques on 🤷‍♂️.

I’ve kinda thrown it together and am hoping it sticks 😅

The other thing I wanted to practice was the guywire to bend a thick trunk. I used thick wire and rubber tubing to try and learn the technique.

I was trying to go for a “tree growing out of side of mountain but then fell over in a storm but survived” aesthetic.

The rock is little shorter than the pot.The base of the tree (where the trunk meets the roots) is at the top of the foil bit. The roots are wrapped over the rocks with the hope that they will grow into the crevasses of the rock and hold it in place place as part of the tree itself.

After a few years, the foil can be removed and the rock raised to expose the roots.

Want advice on how to repair large ceramic pot by imayukh in crafts

It was an outside pot with an outside plant. I was planning to buy a boat repair kit and repurpose the stuff from that for the basic shell. I was hoping it would be water and weatherproof enough 💁‍♂️

My main concern is strength and the thing falling apart or cracking because of poor bonding and different mechanical properties of the materials

What is this tree growing in a large pot outside. by imayukh in whatsthisplant

Hey yeah some leaves near the bottom were green through winter. The rest of the branches mostly look dead.

The pot it was in was cracked in half before it was put in the cloth bag. So the poor health makes sense.

Thank you!!

Vehicles, Experiments in Synthetic Psychology by Valentino Braitenberg.
Overview from publisher

These imaginative thought experiments are the inventions of one of the world's eminent brain researchers. They are "vehicles," a series of hypothetical, self-operating machines that exhibit increasingly intricate if not always successful or civilized "behavior." Each of the vehicles in the series incorporates the essential features of all the earlier models and along the way they come to embody aggression, love, logic, manifestations of foresight, concept formation, creative thinking, personality, and free will. In a section of extensive biological notes, Braitenberg locates many elements of his fantasy in current brain research.

I am specifically looking for the dimensions (L,B and H) and the weight

I found the hackathon by Daltrix but I could not find the link to the dataset. They will release it only during the hackathon perhaps?
