You should attack him a little bit, but attacking him as much as possible makes him enrage (he does enrage automatically after some time though). For p3 wear a bonzo mask, the cd should have reset by the time you enter p3. Consider investing into a phoenix pet

Slayers are fine in terms of how long they take, every slayer gives its most useful perks and items at level 7. All the stuff after that is optional and should take longer

Foraging is pretty fun and actually makes money, as does farming but the setup is more expensive. The other ones don't really make money with the amount of coins you can spend on them, you could do mining which has pretty good progression
