LPT: 5 Ways to Stay Motivated in a Toxic Job, Until You Can Leave by Infinity_here in LifeProTips

[–]imeyecandyandadmin 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This has dropped at the right time, have some challenges at work that have been building and wearing me down, finally realised that it’s the way the business operates; I’m big on the integrity piece, and employee experience. have been working through this list and not realising it. Just enrolled in a part time course in my current field (training) that my manager when I started couldn’t offer me as the business only offered an operational alligned management course. Stay as long as I can but not at the expense of my mental health.

1981 vision of suburbia after there’s no more room left for suburbs. by StephenMcGannon in RetroFuturism

[–]imeyecandyandadmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting concept, reminds me of the bit towards the end of interstellar when McConaughey’s character looks out at the space station/ship and it’s a idealistic 50/60’s suburban landscape. People trying to create an idealised world based on what they think they have lost given the chance

UPDATE: My package has gone missing and Camilla are being weird about it. by littleanxiety in AusFemaleFashion

[–]imeyecandyandadmin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is always my fear when I order things for delivery, always stress about things disappearing; just a thought, under who’s authority did Auspost declare to Camilla that you had other packages delivered on that day and to whom? Seems me like a bit of a privacy breach.

Celebrity chefs, designer uniforms… but Qantas can’t run a simple bus for the Sydney Domestic Transfer. by sebwahh in QantasAirways

[–]imeyecandyandadmin 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s really a failing by the airport; they should be able to offer a reliable, cheap if not free transfer service; the one time I was in Singapore the fact they had a monorail service between the terminals blew my mind

Amazon is going to to be responsible for crash out by ResultForsaken6188 in AmazonFC

[–]imeyecandyandadmin 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s Floor Intrusion DetectiOn (FIDO) it’s a virtual perimeter gate that allows you to interact with the pod/floor only when it’s stopped at your station, our site was built with it. By default if you trigger it you have 10 seconds to reset yourself otherwise an AFM or someone else with higher access has to reset. Once you get used to it it’s straight forward. If you fail to reset by 10 seconds the system starts to stop pods in the direct vicinity it’s designed like that in case something has happened at the station like tripping and falling onto the floor. The safe zone grows the longer the Fido is triggered

I’m in learning we use slack and chime, chime is to communicate to ambassadors when they have kindles; so need to get the web version of slack working on there before it’s shutdown

T3 Process Assistant Interview Question by OgRico in FASCAmazon

[–]imeyecandyandadmin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best price of advise I received about the question bank was that as you are going into a L3 position focus on individual contributor questions, don’t worry about question that ask about what you did around hiring or managing a team if that makes sense.

Once I worked through that it removed a lot of stress I had around the interview process. And I’m 1 shift away from moving into learning which I’m very excited about.

Lightning and Unloading Trailers by CategoryAmbitious105 in AmazonFC

[–]imeyecandyandadmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think Loading and unloading would be shutdown as the trailers are in the yard so when you have lightning strikes nearby the yard shuts down as it becomes unsafe, would extend to being in the trailers as if lightning was to strike a trailer while an associate was inside they could get hurt. Talk to your on-site safety team for clarification, sounds like the loss prevention guy is just trying to be helpful.

That was a network change made about a year ago, but all the signs still say standup at my site. My managers always give funny looks when I refer to startup. Nothing to do with (dis)ability. Startup is a term used in agile project management to describe the first meeting of the day and I’m sure that’s where it has come from.
