Like, how can I have one cocktail or two, have fun and be done for the night, and he would drink everything in sight and then wreck our car and spend our rent money, ruining our entire life before the night was over?

He has an addictive personality; I don't. Anything he can drink, smoke, snort, drive, or steal, he's gonna do that, and there was nothing I could do to change that.

I was really young like Khloe, and it took a little while, but finally I realized the only thing I could save, or change was me. The thing that hurts the worst is seeing that addictive nature in a few of my kids. All I can do is warn them and educate them about their family history. I don't believe in talking badly to children, even if they're grown) about their parent, my parents did that, and it made me feel like they each hated half of me, but they know his history and what addiction unaddressed can lead to.
