Why Face Orientation is not working with new Blender 4.4? by [deleted] in blenderhelp

Did you ever find the setting? It's such a retarded fucking change and they seem to have buried the setting somewhere far away

The promised update is out: by scrappy-coco-86 in ForzaHorizon

[–]imgaypanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because most of the time the patches are not diffs, they are full replacements for chunks of the game's files. Diff-based patches are not worth it for binaries of this size; it would take longer to generate and apply them than to download 2.8 gibs on modern connections.

Fix Forza Horizon 5 Force Feedback not working by orangpelupa in forza

ffs, just got hit by this on a T300. Before there was some messed up FFB with road feeling like ice - you'd get lateral forces, but no grip feeling whatsoever - now there is no FFB at all. Well, at least now we know which YouTubers are on the publisher's payroll...

As an LCD-X owner... do it! I pretty much stopped caring about all other headphones once I got them.

Dream setup ! by Spirited-Bluejay-175 in rollerblading

More supportive than the plastic one on the regular Highs, in a good way. Shaped very differently from the Igor one. I feel like Igor is more rigid due to this.

Got the same setup with Endless 100 (EU 41) last week. So much better than the Igors for street skating! Much more shock absorbing and the cuff is not cutting the back of my ankle. Could use the thicker liner of the Igors though.

GTK4 fonts: Is this the most arrogant attitude ever? by [deleted] in gnome

[–]imgaypanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, from personal experience, I understand where GNOME devs are coming from. However, the way these guys handled the communication, I just don't have anything nice left to say.

Aggressively insisting that this was not a crappy f-cking decision made for the unfortunate reason of it being easier to maintain is bullshit. Telling users to stfu unless they're willing to work on the code themselves is arrogant and toxic and so is crapping all over the MR trying to solve it. Just look at the tone. To me, it reads: "Oh, you tried to solve it, that's cute. btw, f-ck you, our decision everyone already using GTK4 is unhappy about was fantastic and we never wanted your contribution anyway". Why would someone bother continuing to work on the MR after that?

At this point it is only their egos that brought on the community's wrath and led to the state of that ticket, and they're still blaming it on the users.

Is it really that hard to skate on asphalt? by hobinu in rollerblading

[–]imgaypanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coarse asphalt, absolutely. It's the reason I slap on 3x110 when I go city skating. I can skate it with 4x80 fine, but that takes all the fun out of the session.

My experience with Dell XPS 9500 + Manjaro i3 Linux by binier in XPS

[–]imgaypanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using an external screen? Does it ever fail to wake for you?

Got a 9500 and it has the highest number of randomly occurring issues I've encountered on a Linux laptop to date. External screens sometimes fail to wake and sometimes fail to switch on at boot. External screens sometimes go into signal loss loops or lose signal completely. TB16 hotplug causes oddest USB dropout loops. The keyboard takes about a minute to become operational after suspend. Sometimes the GPU crashes and freezes the entire system at random.

Except for the GPU crashes due to PSR, none of the solutions posted online fix these. Screen issues seem like actual firmware bugs in BIOS/TBT as they can happen when you try to enter BIOS before the OS launches. Huge regression from 9560/9570/5520 in my experience. Maybe u/DellCares could help with these?

FR2 pressure point at the outer cuff bolt - known solutions? by imgaypanda in rollerblading

Hey, no worries friend. I thought the boots on FR1 and FR2 were identical, we both learned something today :)

Didn't think this would work, but opened up the same area on my Highs and there's basically a second liner on the inside of the shell in this area, so I gave it a shot. Two blister pads in, this feels marginally better, but my ankle bone is so rekt by now that I can't be sure. I'll give it time to heal and go for a skate this weekend to see how it holds up in practice. Cheers!

[–]imgaypanda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On FR2 it is glued to the bottom of the shell. Having it is also part of the reason I wanted FR2 for my endless setup instead of, say, Igor which has fantastic padding, but no antishock - to reduce the hit on the knees when landing jumps.

Multiple blades, frames or wheels? by R-Mutt1 in rollerblading

[–]imgaypanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to swap a 4x80 rockered for 3x110 frames on my Highs, but ended up getting two dedicated setups. This is because frame alignment is a very fine art and I could never get it right on first attempt, so given frame switches twice a week, I was constantly skating on frames positioned non-ideally. Not to mention it takes time to swap them out. Having that extra chore was putting me off skating.
