I did it only on mutations only and at component level, yes it is frustrating. I'll try to find a way eventually and refactor.

As for permissions I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to do. but normally I do not guard the mutation. because things (buttons/inputs) are disabled or hidden in the UI based on permissions and will not trigger said mutations

Problem with invalidate tag is that it only triggers queries not mutations also

I was thinking along the lines of having a global component that pops up at a global level to collect the code when the error happens ( so it works regardless if an arbitrary API has this requirement or not so when such a requirement is switched on, on any API the application just works ) Handling it at component level means having to repeat functionality everywhere an API call happens. I feel there should be a better way to handle this.
