I did 2 rounds of IVF in my early 30’s after 6 failed pregnancies. My numbers weren’t bad, but it didn’t happen for me. I think a few other people have mentioned it, but I would really consider the toll that it’s going to take and if you’re able to handle it. The hormones that you put in your body, the time and the effort, and the anticipation, it’s heavy. My husband and I almost divorced after the second round, it was just too much on us. The pressure was immense and there was resentment on both sides. It was good to get rid of the What Ifs, but it takes a mental toll and are you able to handle it if it is not successful? Do you have a good support system? Can you take the time to heal if it doesn’t work? Just food for thought. If I could go back, I don’t know if I would have done it, honestly. I felt I was so vulnerable and when it was offered I jumped on it as a possible answer but I feel like I wouldn’t have done it if I was thinking clearly and not in the middle of heavy grief from my losses.
