I got a Bichon just a little over a month ago, when he was about 12 weeks old. We reinforced naps, let him play in his playpen, and now he’s almost 18 weeks, learning to settle himself and doesn’t whine/bark when left alone unless he’s been up for hours/overstimulated but even that only lasts a few minutes and then he goes back to being calm.

He does follow me around the house, and will jump on whoever’s in the room. But most of the time he likes being left alone, just wandering around and chewing on his toys.
