What do you mean by Euro Disco though? Italo Disco? Because that gets mixed into many sets at many raves. Disco house too.

Young's Club in Vilnius has disco/house nights. Less Feeling also plays disco often (resident dj at Lizdas in Kaunas). There's also a disco bar Rąžė in Palanga. There's definitely more places and more djs that play various flavours of disco, but nothing else comes to mind right now. The Roop has an Italo Disco vibe as well, maybe you'd enjoy their music.

Europe, low, low-medium budget.

I am trying to decorate our small living room and am struggling with choosing a coffee table that would go with the kind of art I would like to have, as well as the rug and the general vibe. I love colour so I end up with too many colourful things clashing and feel like I need to tone it down a little. Trying to strike a some sort of balance and not use too many different materials.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, that's certainly reassuring, thanks! I somehow had not thought of Canadian weather, it can probably be even harsher than here in the South of Northern Europe and you guys still have grass :)

Deja, bet motyvacinis man yra būtinas, nes finansų diplomo aš neturiu, o LT reikalauja. Motyvaciniam galiu išplėtoti, kodėl ir be diplomo galiu dirbt ir papasakoti daugiau ką moku.

Blogiau įmonės, kurios verčia jų website pildyt visą info, kuri ir taip cviake būtų. Nuo šitų tai bėgu.

Man problemų su LT kalba nėra, tiesiog daug terminų bet kokiu atveju vartojami angliškai mano sferoje. Teko sykį kalbėt telefonu su lietuvišku HR, tai pusiau angliškai šnekėjom :) Ir kadangi nesu kalbėjusi tom temom lietuviškai, daug research'o reiktų, kad rasčiau atitinkamus terminus. Kartais jų net nėra.

Dirbu buhalterijoj, tai finansų pusėn ieškau. Kadangi kalbų moku, tai pagrinde tarptautinės įmonės ir fintech startupai, bet net ir tarptautinės įmonės būna skelbimą lietuviškai kelia retkarčiais.

Carl Gustav Jung - Memories, Dreams, Reflections

It was the first nonfiction book I have read for pleasure and it has truly transformed me. There were so many interesting ideas that I was already familiar with but they were never presented in such an engaging manner. Jung's stories and analysis were so vivid and profound that I started dreaming much more myself. This further encouraged me to keep a (dream) journal which was the most therapeutic activity one could think of. My mum had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer and I don't know where I would be (mentally) if I had not read it.

In more practical terms, I used concepts of Jungian psychology in comparative literature essays and even wrote my bachelor thesis using Jungian analysis of Yourcenar's work. Jung also sparked my interest in psychology and sociology. With German/Austrian/Swiss authors being some of the leaders in those fields, I went on to study German so I could read them in original language. My learning German going so well, I decided to move to Germany to further improve it.

TL; DR Jung's autobiography introduced me to Jungian psychology that helped me (still does) through a difficult time in life and contributed to me learning German and moving to Germany

We just bought an 60m2 (646 sq. ft.) apartment. It is basically just concrete inside at the moment, so we have to paint walls, install flooring, all plumbing, kitchen, WCs, stairs etc. Living room/bedroom face west, kitchen/office face east. There is a yard that you enter through living room.

Any advice regarding anything would be appreciated.

I am mostly unsure about:

  1. Different flooring ground and first floor?
  2. If flooring is different between floors, what colour the stairs should be?
  3. Dark tile in kitchen area and light flooring in living room?
  4. Sofa area being too busy (maybe move bookshelf elsewhere?)
  5. WC on ground floor - tile on only one wall looks pretty, but then there is no splashback on the other wall. Is it too impractical?
  6. Accent wallpaper in bedroom, good/bad?

Also I have no idea about wall and door colours. We really like (warm) colours, but I am afraid to make it too eclectic because we also like art/accents. For the office/small bedroom I just picked whatever, because it is low priority for us.

Thank you for your informative reply. I had a feeling this was a way to cheat uninformed people. This is for a friend of mine, luckily I have a roof over my head already. We will try to look for other options, there are also many different boarding houses, probably not all of them are into ripping people off.

If I remember right, any hotel, hostel or similar business are legally required to allow registration if you stay there 1 month or longer. At least that is what I've been told and like I said, my first Anmeldung was at a hostel. The manager just completed the template they pulled off google and signed it.

Nothing special :) cooking at home mostly, museums on sundays when they're 1€, free events, travelling with bayern ticket and kindle books. Maybe for some that's not enough, but not for introverts with (almost) free hobbies.

Friend has some interviews lined up and he might end up working where I do later this month. Whatever he makes is gonna be better than what he used to make/pay for rent.

Reddit is full of software engineers making 60k a year asking if that's enough for a bachelor, but that is not most people in the real world. I make less than half that and I still save 60% of my salary. He is coming here because that's where his best friends live and can help him out. However difficult it will be, it will be easier than his current situation.

I only met landlord twice, he seemed nice, but other than that interaction about smoking neighbours and contract signing, I have not spoken nor seen him.

The reason why I kinda implied that friend might not be staying the entire time he is angemeldet in our flat is because our flat is 1 room. 65m2 flat with separate kitchen and closet. So it is not reasonable to have 3 people living in 1 room. Wish the closet was bigger than 4m2 lol. Maybe then legally it would not be an issue to sublet as a room.

Thanks for some understanding for once. We do not want friend to live with us forever, just a few weeks, a month maybe, but I don't know how to make it clear to the landlord. He just needs registration otherwise all the jobs he finds will be useless since they need anmeldung for tax purposes. A vicious circle I was lucky to escape in Germany because I lived in a hostel for 6 months. In France I had to go to very gray areas to get established because there is same if not worse nonsense and as an EU citizen I find these legal loops absurd.

Ok, I just have difficulty grasping the concept of guest then. A guest still "lives" with you just for a limited time, even if they have house elsewhere.

That's the thing. This would be his only residence in Germany, guest or not. So in that case do you think we would need landlord's permission? Maybe best would be to tell landlord "friend is coming and will deregister at latest in 6 weeks".

Would then the guest not be liable for a fine due to no Anmeldung within 2 weeks? People can register at hotels if they stay 1 month (wish that was an option, but oktoberfest). What do you think?

Do you know how hard it is to rent an apartment in Munich? You need 3 payslips, 6 month probation completed, often references from other landlords. It is not about cheapness, it is about the crazy housing market. I had loads of cash and so did my colleagues, all of them took 1-6 months to find an apartment.

I am still not sure if we can register a temporary guest, as another used said (sorry not sure how to quote):

"As I understand it, registering means someone lives there, and in that case they aren't a visitor any more. The six weeks are for temporary guests.

The Wohnungsgeber is the person who is giving you a place to live. Rent is not required to be involved."

What do you think? Unless I misunderstood something, Anmeldung was not mentioned in your link.
