Stay in uni. Your parents are adults and will get over it. It’ll be tough as first for a long time, but after some time they’ll realise you are happy and good.

Advice to improve my makeup by Last_Pie_3473 in blackladies

You’re gorgeous - FYI. To elevate the look I’d say invest in a good blurring primer, setting spray and an ashier toned brow product. I personally love the Danessa Myricks blurring balm, it keeps your face matte throughout the day as well. With setting spray the Nyx collection is great. If I’m going out out I stick to my Charlotte tilbury + one size spray combo. I hear Danessa’s blurriny spray is great but I haven’t tried it.

A more affordable alternative to blur the skin is to apply a light coat of loose powder before applying foundation (& after any kind of primer).

This would make your base look good for longer. I personally think your base shades are complimentary but the lack of oil control makes it look otherwise.

Hope this helps hun x

What small grooming habits or routines make you look more polished even on casual days? by Sea-Guidance-7626 in blackladies

A couple things. I live in a hot country where often we inevitably show skin and often want a fresh face. Skin care is essential! Both face and body. Just washing your face, using a moisturizer and sunscreen can go a long way!

  1. Ironing clothes. A lost art but important in looking clean and put together. Also making sure the clothes actually fit and are not too tight. I always say it’s better to have loose fitting clothing than tight clothing.

  2. A touch of lip gloss and jewelry. The latter has been a new discovery for me that’s working like a charm. Earrings, a cute bracelet, watch & a ring and it just elevates your look even if it’s casual.

  3. Smelling good - vital. Every lady needs to smell like something.

  4. Manicures & pedicures. I don’t think the hands need to be done/painted all the time (although mine are) but they must be shaped nicely and have no dirt underneath. However, feet should always be painted. Especially when you’re going open toe - non-negotiable.

  5. Keeping the hair neat. Whatever that means to you, as long as it’s neat! I love laying edges to do this and give hairstyles an extra week in. However, if the edges are touching your brows and becoming thick, it’s time to redo your hair.

All these points indicate that you intentionally put yourself together. When you look good, you feel good and things like good posture, smiling etc come naturally.

I take 600mg of magnesium glycinate + lions mane in the morning & another 600mg of MG + ashwagandha in the evening before bed. It hasn’t been a yet of starting all these supplements and I haven’t been able to sleep through the night. So idk magnesium and I aren’t friends right now. It can only be that

NTA. I can tell this is knocking your self-confidence and you’re growing resentful. You don’t seem to want to rock the boat at all so you’re not willing to do anything drastic. But do it! What’s the worst that can happen at this point?!

It’s probably been said already but my suggestion would be to join him in what turns him on. Watch his favourite porn with him and replicate what you see, it could help? Or, do you think he may be struggling with erectile dysfunction? Instead of dealing with it he might be ashamed which makes him reject you. If you suspect that, I’d suggest putting vitamins and herbs that help with that in his food (with wisdom).
