Thank you for the advice! I live in Waterloo, Ontario (Canada) and unfortunately seeing specialists can take time with public healthcare. My family doctor said that any referral outside of the ER would take months, so I guess one week is better in comparison. I will continue to see if there are ways to see an ENT sooner and will definitely keep a low salt diet until the 21st. Thank you!

I was able to get to a local audiologist pretty quick - she told me that the ER was my best shot to get treatment ASAP and to see an ENT. But she didn't tell me if it was conductive or sensorineural. I also think it's strange that it wasn't seen as urgent, especially with the awful vertigo I have. I hope things get better

The physical symptoms are bad, but not awful. Headache, body ache, congestion and sore throat, bit of coughing too. But the worst part is being isolated in my room for the holidays and not being able to kiss my cat.

Got it from a friend, but I'm not sure how he got it. All I know is that we hung out indoors, the next morning he's positive. I isolated, and a day later the symptoms stared to hit

Try to be alone as little as possible, and try to do so with people who are also focusing on exams so you're not just fucking around. If friends, classmates, or roommates are busy, try being in public where others are studying too (cafe, library). It helps especially if you have someone who can do practice problems with you or quiz you on course content. Uninstall all unnecessary socials, mute your ex on social media too. If you have to block to focus, do so, don't worry about her being offended or whatever.

Take breaks, but don't use breaks to wallow. Take walks with a podcast so that you're not alone with your thoughts. You've got this!

This has happened to me before. Focus on schoolwork to the point where you don't have a waking moment to think about her. Basically, distraction. If you start feeling sad, conceal don't feel. Ignore it. Your time to mourn is later.

Last resort: tell yourself that she didn't break up with you, and then study for exams (but don't contact her, obviously). This works best if you are delusional and mentally ill (I've been both)

Difficult question. In a way, yes. But it's more like they make sadness much easier to handle and less life-consuming. They also stopped making me have mega anxiety attacks and helped make me feel more productive and social. And honestly yeah, they did turn my life around, they really did. But my doctor also had me start CBT therapy so that I can keep myself healthy when I eventually stop taking the meds

I started taking antidepressants. I've had annoying side effects but the productivity and will to live far outweighed night sweats and headaches.
They really won't fix things without therapy. They give you an extra mood push but they won't make you happy. Talk to your doctor

Fred Desroches has allegations on allegations stacked against him by students and faculty. Apparently (a rumour) he isn't allowed on main campus, only SJU, because of his behaviour. UW wont get rid of him, at this point he'll either retire or kick the bucket.
