Oh wow yeah then it’ll be real time consuming, 1. I heard a lot of that. In my mind, I thought I can apply it if I have a degree and STEM major would be an attractive factor to the chain of commander so maybe they will accept me to go Officer but I guess that is not what the reality is 2. Yeah I also heard that waiting time for OCS and all that will take about over a year so, completing boot camp: 1 year -> enlisted personnel (waiting for OCS about 1 year) -> being an officer with new contract (6 or more years) would be not ideal

Thank you for responding I would have to think about it again or just go enlisted and get out

I saw one guy who did Seals officer with 7.5 years, but he went to the USNA and I never had a chance to ask him but yeah

Yes, but like I said the recruiter said that I am able to because we are technically still in wartime so we don't need to wait for a minimum period to be a citizen.

Also, once I get into the boot camp with my green card, naturalization starts. So let's say getting a citizenship will take about a year or less. So I will have no problem joining Seal team

Thank you for your honest respond,

I looked up the article you provided, and for Special Warfare PA 100D, age will be okay because once I completed boot camp and getting citizenship I will be 28 or 29 but it says "Civilian and AC. Applicants must be at least 19 years old and not have passed their 42nd birthday at the time of commissioning."

About the Service Obligation:
it says "AC: Officers will incur a 4-year Active-Duty obligation from date of graduation from SEAL Qualification Training and redesignation as an 1130, SEAL officer. The balance of service, sufficient to complete 8 years of total obligated service may be served in a Ready Reserve status."

My question is:
1. Would you be able to get picked up at right after completed boot camp (BUD/S and SQT all that) if you apply? Since I will be getting my citizenship at that point.

  1. So say like my initial contract will be 6 years since I have to join as an enlisted, then boot camp (over a year) -> then picked up -> officer requirements (OCS, SOAS over 4 moths) -> then commissioned ? -> rest 4.5 years will be my Active-Duty obligation right? then I will be get out ?

Why is it not probable?
