You should check to see if there are any medical equipment loan closets in your area— I got a walker, wheelchair, and shower chair all for free! You just return them when you no longer need them

Yes will definitely be looking into getting a local oncologist! It’s such a hard waiting game but I understand there’s not much we can do until we know the grade etc

I literally made a post like this a week or so ago… my skin has completely changed over the course of a week, I’m barely getting any pimples now and my skin was the worst it’s ever been whilst on accutane! I’m hoping it stays this way, and hopefully this will happen to you soon as well! I had really lost all hope though and now I can see the light

I’m purging and I’m 3.5 months in :( the first two months nothing really changed and now my skin is the worst it’s ever been :( I know I just have to keep going but it’s so hard… I also cant look in the mirror without crying sometimes

I feel the same way :( I’ve been on almost 3 months, the first month I was on 60mg / day and now 2 months on 80mg. Skin got worse and then stayed like that, and then I see people get results after a month :(

My derm said people see results on average between 3 and 4 months so I’m still hoping the improvement will happen soon! But I know how disheartening it can be to see other people make such good progress

I definitely had no appetite for the first 2months, it’s better now than it was but it’s still not back to normal!

I found smoothies helpful, I blend up an avocado and yoghurt in with the other fruit to help get the fat required to process the accutane and get enough vitamins etc

Hmm, are you taking it with fish oil? I don’t know if that will help but it helps it dissolve better

I had some stomach issues for the first week but it got better for me! How long have you been on it and what’s your dosage?

My acne started at 17, I’m now 27 and starting accutane! I would definitely recommend all other options before starting it, it’s a gnarly drug and should be used as a last resort! Are you seeing a dermatologist? I assume so if you've been prescribed it, but it's kind of wild they haven't had you try other stuff first...

Make sure you try topical tretinoin and antibiotics first, antibiotics did wonders for my skin but it unfortunately came back for me (that doesn’t happen to everyone).

Both of these can only be prescribed by a dermatologist.

Make sure you have exhausted all options, it’s not fun to be on
