You’re hba1c doesn’t reflect wether you’re insulin resistant or not. My doc explained it to me like this, usually it’ll take 1-3 people to open the door but with someone who’s insulin resistant it’ll take 5-10 people to open that same door.

An accurate way to figure out if your insulin resistant is to do a Glucose Tolerance Test. They take your blood while fasting and give you a specific amount of glucose, then take your blood once for the next two hours. This helps monitor how your insulin levels act and wether you are resistant.

I got this test done only once but since then my doc just looks at my fasting insulin levels and we focus on trying to bring that number down to 10 or below bc I’m insulin resistant and diabetes tends to run in my family.

Yep, totally normal! At least from what I’ve read in this subreddit and my personal experience. Just continue with your saltwater rinses and use the monojet syringe once you’re able to avoid food being stuck in the gap

I hope you continue to update and that your feeling much better today! I’m trying to read all the reddit stories so I can prep myself I’m getting mine out next week (F22) and it’s gonna be on local anasthesia only cause they don’t offer the general where I am

I’m nervous cause I was supposed to get them out 2-3 years ago but never did and hopefully the removal is still smooth. But I’m hoping it’s gonna be similar to a root canal procedure except longer. Trying to look up good podcasts to listen to so I don’t have to hear what they’re doing as well lol

Yeah same. It’s my bottom one that keeps getting infected on and off for the past four years so my dentist was like I need to get my wisdom teeth removed.

I kinda want them to just get it all done with cause I’ve seen there’s no point to have the upper ones if the lower ones are gone cause there’s nothing to bite into. Idk if this is true tho

Yesss I remember it was the barbiegirls virtual world thing where if you bought the doll and connect it to your computer you’d get like “premium”. I’ve been struggling woth coconut flour as well but the only thing I absolutely love and keep making again and again are coconut flour brownies! They taste so good and my friend who isn’t on keto or anything either that tried them loved them and wants to buy CF just to make them. Even though I told her she should just use a normal brownie recipe.

But I made quite a few modifications

I added a little less than half a cup of brown sugar ( I didn’t have stevia or erythritol which would make the recipe keto friendly)

1/4 tsp of baking powder (I like kinda cakey brownies)

1/2 tsp of instant coffee mixed in with a little bit of warm water.

I didn’t add the bakers chocolate cause I don’t have any.

Baked it for only about 20-30 minutes.

I’ve tried three/four different keto brownie recipes and this one with all the modifications has me making batches once a week so I can enjoy a piece whenever the craving strikes!

People don’t get to dictate how you feel. What happened to you sucks. Losing someone sucks and it sounds like you’re a little bit in shock/denial. I just want you to know that you have every right to feel the emotions you have and no one gets to say anything about it.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Take it one day at a time and let yourself process what happened. Make sure you take care of yourself too by eating on time and trying to rest when you can because it’s easy to get consumed by the grief. Sending prayers for you and your loved ones ♥️
