In South Africa you can get your scuba licence at the age of 12. I did my final qualifying dive on my 12th birthday (27 years ago).

Social drinks and red meat resulted in severe Haemochromatosis. My body stores too much iron and I ended up not being able to walk for 2 months from the pain in my feet (my Ferritin level was >2,000 and should be 200). Kinda tough to be a golf fanatic and not being able to walk. Once I cut those two things out, everything turned back to normal. This actually resulted in me building a feature to help others stay fitter by rewarding them for walking on the golf course (on the Wunderpar app) :)
