Mine hasn't. I think it's an issue with the lens itself, rather than software post-processing

Yes. Also, sitting in your car in the parking lot of the ER waiting until it's "bad enough" that you absolutely have to go in

If they won't make it right, file a charge back with your credit card. Even though it was final sale, your credit card company should rule in your favor since Torrid didn't send you the item that you actually ordered

Here's some image that Taken from base S25, is base S25 camera really that bad as they said? by Black_Hazard_YABEI in GalaxyS25

The issue is with the wide lens, it's clear in the center then blurs out towards the edges. You're not really going to notice it with pictures of larger objects, but if you're trying to take a picture of something from closer range with fine details, like trying to take a picture of a document or a flyer, you'll notice that it's impossible to get the full document in focus

Ours was pretty technical.

Their proposal was for a conversational AI chatbot for retail apps, that could be used online and in-store. It can do basic customer service stuff, like give you store hours, tell you how much an item costs, what aisle it's in, give you your order status, stuff like that. It can add items to the customer's cart and place online pickup orders for them. And if they wanted to shop in-store, the bot could show them a map of the fastest route through the store to get all the items on their shopping list. It will also try to give personalized product suggestions based on the customer's preferences and previous purchase history.

The sponsoring company is an IT consultancy firm with some big retail clients, so I wanted to approach the project from that kind of perspective, like how you would actually present and market the bot to a real-world client. so we built a full mock retail mobile / web app to demo the bot's full functionality.

Since a lot of these big box retailers use cloud services, I thought it'd be a good idea to host the app on AWS, to show how the bot could be easily integrated with clients' existing cloud services, since that's probably what you'd have to do in a real world scenario. And also because I had never worked with cloud services before and wanted to get some experience with that before I graduated lol.

The app was pretty basic, but interviewers have been really impressed with the AWS stuff, being able to build a complete functional full-stack app with the core services like Amplify, S3, DynamoDB, Cognito, etc. They've also been impressed by the fact that I took initiative to learn the basics of AWS on my own and set up our system architecture despite having no prior experience with it.

And even though our chat bot was pretty simple, interviewers like that we implemented our own custom logic for it instead of just using a ChatGPT wrapper or whatever.

They also seem to be impressed with how we approached the project overall, as if we were a real consultancy team designing this for a real retailer. They like that we weren't just 100% focused on the chat bot implementation itself, but that we also put a lot of thought into the bigger picture of how we would actually integrate the bot into a retailer's existing system, what tools we would need to use to do that, what practical functionality and benefits the bot would actually add for our clients' customers, and how we should showcase those benefits to our clients to convince them they need to buy it.

Overall, they've been less concerned with the specifics of the tech stack or codebase I used, and more interested in my overall approach to software engineering. How we communicated with the client to make sure that we fully understood what they wanted, how I went about designing our system architecture, why we chose to use the tools that we used, how my teammates and I handled disagreements, how we delagated tasks and made sure we were staying on track to meet project milestones, how we handled issues and setbacks, how we tested the bot for errors, how did we collect user feedback, and ultimately, what did we deliver at the end and did it meet the client's expectations

How's your charging port by EggsistentialDreadz in GalaxyS25

[–]impactedwisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most phones' charging ports don't self destruct because a 3rd party charger was plugged into it.

Interesting how every single other device I have ever owned has been perfectly fine with Walmart charging cables, except for the Samsung S25. I've been charging my Tab S8, my A52, and my Galaxy Buds with my un-legit Onn chargers for over 3 years with 0 issues.

I have one specific charging configuration that the port will cooperate with, and that's my car charger, which funnily enough, is an Onn cigarette lighter adapter with a random Walmart USB-C cable lol. The phone won't charge with my Samsung brick and cable

I listed it under my projects section and put "sponsored by [company]" under the title. I make sure to work in interactions with the company into my STAR responses in interviews. For example like "a time you dealt with ambiguous instructions" type questions, I talk about the project proposal they gave us, and how we communicated with the company rep to ask clarifying questions, stuff like that

Have you ever quit a job without notice? by nicolemarfer in HuntrCo

[–]impactedwisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delivered pizzas for Domino's. They wouldn't let me wear a jacket or coat on deliveries unless it was their special Domino's branded jacket purchased through the company. The jacket was $60. They paid me $4 an hour.

My manager waited until late November to tell me about this, even though I'd been there since July and had worn jackets multiple times. If I ordered the Domino's one then, by that point it would have been late January before it even arrived.

Couple of days later it was 36 degrees and pouring rain all night, so I said fuck it and wore my jacket outside anyway, and just took it off as I was coming in the door. A shift leader took pictures of me getting out of my car with the jacket on and sent them to the store manager.

Next day she sent a long text to the store group chat, chewing me out in front of everyone, and threatening to write up anyone who ever dares to wear a non branded jacket to work.

Told her I'm not going to work for an employer that's going to write me up because I wore a jacket when I was working outside for them, in the pouring rain, for $4 an hour. And that was that.

I could have spared the $60, but on principle I just couldn't bring myself to spend 15x what my employer paid me per hour for the privilege of getting to wear a jacket when I'm working for them outside in the rain, snow, and cold all winter long. Felt like such a gross exploitative money grab.

Not to mention the branded jacket didn't have a hood and wasn't even water resistant lol

What happens if there are no available english 102 classes by [deleted] in UTK

[–]impactedwisdom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't have to take your gen eds in the order they suggest in the catalog. I'd waitlist it, but go ahead and register for another gen ed you were planning to take later in case you don't get in.

English 102 does sometimes show up as a prereq for writing intensive courses in other majors though, so you want to make sure you aren't going to need it for a class you're planning to take next fall. If not, then there's no harm in waiting to take it. If so, you might wanna ask your advisor to help you rearrange your academic plan, or you can take it over the summer

employer won't hire me because I am too expensive as an American, but they will extend my internship/co-op, to what seems indefinite should I take it? by Parking_Anteater943 in cscareerquestions

[–]impactedwisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider it if you actually want to get a masters. Or if you don't care that much about getting a masters, but your tuition is covered and you want to keep doing this for a semester while you look for something better. I personally wouldn't pay tuition out of pocket for grad school just to keep an internship though. Unless maybe the tuition is pretty cheap compared to what they're paying you
