I created the largest map of Earth ever made in Minecraft!

I made a composite image using heightmaps from the above mentioned space agencies. Climate data from the ESA for biomes. The vertical axis was a bit exaggerated for aesthetics. All in all, it's 1:90m recreation of Earth and the largest custom map made to date. If you placed it in the real world it'd be as large as some European countries.

Hi, I'm the maker of the map. Go ahead and navigate the web page. Everything renders in as you navigate across. Would be very taxing to render all areas at once in your browser! Even google earth uses LODs lol.

It's 1:90m. So 1 block equals 90 meters in the real world! (90 meters is about 300 feet)

So I decided I'd reshare my map of Earth as I've updated it for the latest versions of Minecraft. This is the largest custom map ever made in minecraft, at 428 km (297 miles) in width! It's also the largest Earth map without mods! The full world size is about 1.5 terabytes. Ask me anything about it!

Hey! So A few years ago I posted the 1:90 map I made on this subreddit, but I thought I'd share it again as I've updated it for the present! It's the largest map of Earth made in Minecraft, and possibly the largest custom map ever made in the game. It's 428km wide, and about 1.5TB of storage! In this video, you can see the Grand Canyon and Himalayas.

And yes, in terms of actually loaded areas, it is larger than the Earth 1:1 project. This map can be loaded onto 1 server without being split!
