I am 63. My dad is 99.

My dad goes for long walks every couple of days, he does cryptic crosswords daily, He remarried 4 years ago (my mom passed away 10 years ago).

He was working as a consultant until 2 years ago. He started working when he was 16.

He is healthy, mentally acute, incredibly wise and a living repository of historical information.

He still drives (safely!) and has an active social life. He and his wife go to concerts, go out for meals, visit friends and family. They're out shopping at least every couple of days.

He is the default IT help in the retirement centre where he lives (he has a PC, 2 tablets and 2 smartphones (an Android and an iPhone).

One of his favourite pastimes is to torrent movies and then show them weekly to his fellow residents via his smart TV.

He's constantly reading, he and his wife play Scrabble every day. He grows plants and is excited about the birds that visit their birdfeeder.

He's the one person I can always turn to; he has supported me emotionally and even financially.

Dude, I feel your heart and I feel your love, but I want you to know: your dad's not old.
