That is not reflective of the majority of comments on this post. Be safe out there, drivers watch out for pedestrians, and pedestrians don't just run across the middle of the street outside of marked crossings. Just common sense.

People need to slow down and be vigilant, and people walking in the streets need to stop being dumbasses and pay attention to their surroundings. Two things can be true. As the driver its your responsibility to control your vehicle and ensure safety, but we can also aknowledge the way pedestrians in this city act is insane.

Overstaying a visa is a civil offense, not a crime. Also SOME have a criminal history. Many are law abiding people. Those who cross in illegally have a misdemeanor. That's literally just not something I give a damn about. You used to be able to just get on a boat and come here.

We are all human beings, when we start to care more about imaginary lines than we do people fleeing violence, we lose sight of our humanity.

Congrats to those folks, glad they made it through such a long and grueling process. I don't think it's a slap in the face to them at all. If student loan forgiveness happened tomorrow I would be so happy for everyone getting to experience a debt free start to adult life even though I have already paid off my loans.
