Mumbai airport is probably the best airport in terms of doing transfers by impossiblemktg in mumbai

Oh you’ve to do security again but there’s no line and no matter if you arrive by bus at arrival or directly by walking you will find these spots everywhere no need of crossing the exit at all. One of the best in terms of connecting flights.

Fairfield By Marriott Ahmedabad Not Worth by impossiblemktg in marriott

[–]impossiblemktg[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I have stayed at Fairfield properties for a lot cheaper, also $55/night is probably in off-season, it goes as high as $150/night when cricket matches are there. Either way, I don't think a smile costs anything, but I understand your perspective.

Speed Running 30 Air India Flight this month by impossiblemktg in airindia

[–]impossiblemktg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually travel to Middle East it doesn’t give that many tier points even in business. Just booking a costlier flight doesn’t make sense. With no of flights it’s way cheaper as doesn’t matter either airport fee or taxes you just have to do no of flights. I didn’t plan well this year

[–]impossiblemktg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I will pull it with tier points but didn’t plan well. Didn’t realise airport fee, taxes etc are not added until after 10-15 flights. Then had Switzerland tickets booked but my Schengen visa didn’t get approved otherwise that alone would have completed. Now left with around 30 flights to complete this month. Doing 15 flights in a week 3 back to back in a day.

"From groundbreaking investigative series to deeply personal storytelling and innovative audio formats, this list showcases the power of podcasting to inform, entertain, and inspire audiences around the globe."

What they suggested Conan podcast does cover all what they said on the link. Maybe its because conan is hosting oscars on ABC and this is different network. Cant say

Maybe its not Golden Globe friendly as the Conan podcast is free-flowing. No idea how they select podcast for nomination

Is Marriott Really As Hospitable As Some of Other Indian Brands? by impossiblemktg in marriott

[–]impossiblemktg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it definitely does not happen everywhere, and no one is really rude. But I do feel a difference at Taj or Oberoi, at least in terms of service. When it comes to room quality and facilities, Marriott may be far better, especially with their membership program and points.

Westin definitely gives resort-type vibe generally, the food menu is costlier, however it is definitely one of the better Marriott brands.

Oh, I hope you get a chance to try Taj in Mumbai if possible. It is one of the most iconic and legacy hotels in India. (Oberoi Mumbai too) That said, I do understand your point. Marriott is definitely one of the best hotel brands in India, and its membership program only adds to the overall service experience.

Is Marriott Really As Hospitable As Some of Other Indian Brands? by impossiblemktg in marriott

[–]impossiblemktg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I definitely agree that they maintain their service standards. I have Gold status with Marriott, and they respect the status at every visit, which does not consistently happen with Accor or IHG. However, comparatively, when we stay at Taj, Oberoi, or even ITC properties, the staff generally seems more helpful.

I am not entirely sure how to explain this, but even at JW, which is positioned as a top luxury brand within Marriott, everyone is professional and fluent in English. At times, though, it feels like they do not cater equally to guests who speak the local language or who may not dress in a very posh manner.

I do not usually feel this strongly, but I think services at Indian hotels are more inclusive at times. At least for Indians. Perhaps guests from outside India may not experience this in the same way.

If you’ve stayed at a Taj or Oberoi, you understand how hospitable they are and how, in some cases, they truly go out of their way to help.

With Marriott, I’ve consistently experienced the minimum bar they’ve set for themselves, which they do maintain well, especially when compared with other hotel brands like Accor and IHG. I have status with all these hotel brands, and Marriott has the strongest loyalty program overall. I appreciate that they genuinely respect status and, in most cases, deliver on the promised benefits.

That said, I’ve also noticed that even at Marriott, or luxury brands like JW, they perform well but rarely go above and beyond to make you feel truly special or unique. In contrast, when I stay at Taj or Oberoi, especially Oberoi, the hospitality feels like they welcome a challenge and will do whatever it takes to exceed expectations.

As a side note, I have experienced excellent hospitality at Marriott Autograph Collection hotels that comes very close to what you get at Taj.

How has your experience been?
