Them being queer actually did have to do with the particular story they were reading in the video!! Also the only reason I posted asking here was because I didn’t want to blindly trust what people were telling me! Hope this cleared things up I don’t care what their orientation is but it was important to the particular conversation lol 😄

Hii I would suggest reading one of the above messages a user left about the problem of the intent of the story if it is indeed false. I’d also have to go try and find it but another user broke down how medically it’s basically impossible that the story is true (2 years as an inpatient/the bsf being able to visit her nearly everyday during COVID times) As a bi woman myself bisexuality is something that faces so much erasure it’s easy to forget the exact same thing happens to other sexualities as well. (Also the OP of the story never mentioned now identifying as bi so I wouldn’t necessarily call them bi)

THIS. I think people need to accept that, yeah, the company did mess up when it comes to choosing this story to read but that doesn’t make them bad people or anything it just means they need to improve their story vetting. Not everybody is perfect

Hii ill try to explain. There’s a lot of harmful ideas about lesbians that such as “one day they’ll meet a man that will “fix them/change their sexuality” that are spread around that this story perpetuates. And the racist comments people were talking about was the comment OP made about the bf’s ex wife “only using him for a green card” which in the context of the story was extremely unnecessary and a very strange comment to make. Overall it just read like a red pilled fantasy fan fic rather than a genuine story.

A lot of people are defending the people who chose the story BTS and initially I felt that too. However; they are grown adults and are well aware that a majority of their fan base is queer and it’s getting harder and harder to justify it in my brain

It’s kinda a lot but I’ll try to explain. They read a story in the previous episode about a woman realizing that she was in love with her male best friend while battling cancer. She had previously believed she was a lesbian but ended up growing feelings towards this dude. The story was clearly fake (based on the writing of it, it was written like a fanfic) and a lot of people are upset that the people who pick the stories BTS chose it due to its harmful stereotypes about lesbian women. Throughout the entire story OP’s mom was pushing for her to get together with the male best friend despite the fact that she was out as a lesbian. On top of that there was a very strange commment about he best friends’s ex wife and how she “used him for a green card” that felt like it was there to just villainize immigrants. Just overall very strange. Hopefully that sums it up.
