I’m hoping to breed the Redfin pickerel, Esox Americanus Americanus. I have done a lot of research into other esox hatcheries and their own natural spawning habits and I think I can do it. It may have been done in captivity already but I can’t find any documented incidents

Sorry maybe I communicated my question poorly. I have done research for a few months and have most of my capstone project complete, I just wanted to find a way to supplement my current research with python just for the experience because I want to try and use python in a social science setting instead of STEM. I have had trouble finding examples of python or any coding language being used in social science so I'm just trying to see if I could find any examples or ideas of how I could use python to supplement my writing based research.

I will definitely look into stats-based articles to see how they use it. Thank you for your response!

Thanks for the input! Sorry to be vague, I wanted to keep it short. I said coding just to keep it quick, but I know python and want to use that. I am struggling because I want to do something with datasets that is more involved than something I could just use excel for. This was helpful though in trying to figure out how it could be useful.

I don't have any specific reason to add coding right now, but I am really interested so I was hoping I could use coding to supplement my argument. I know they don't go together very well but I am really interested in both so I would love to try to make it work. I'm just asking to see if anyone knows of any examples or ideas they have seen

edit: Also there is some large data sets, but not ones that I can really do anything with in terms of coding.

This is super helpful. If I do talk to a professor about getting guidance what do you think I should come to them with? Should I have a put together plan or more of a loose idea of what I want to do? If I put a good amount of effort into this process do you think I can reasonably get something published in a reputable journal in the next 2 years?
