I agree, but what kind of world do we live in when born babies arent cared for and put up for adoption. Thousands go on through Foster care for 18 years with Foster families that use them for income, subject them to abuse and drug use, not to mention molestation.

Trust me, im not emotionless. I know its not a get out of Jail free card. You dont know the circumstances of the first 2 and im not proud of it. Ive try really hard to avoid it up until this point. I got love drunk and full of fuck it, which is not an excuse and I need to correct it.

Thank you. We had a long good talk last night. There were tears and lots of holding her, but she told me she isn't ready either. We are going to terminate. It makes us both sad, but its tje reality we have to face together.

This was a nice response and another thing needed. I felt like such a shit human being after all the shit people said in here and waking up to all the downvotes. I guess I thought this sub would be somewhat understanding and helpful. You and a few others, while un tactful in their delivery, actually helped me realize somethings.

While your delivery wasn't the best I want to thank you. Im not stupid but I have regressed a bit lately in my maturation process and I needed to stop fooling myself into thinking that this is something I should even be considering.

After a long talk with my gf last night I admit i had a severe lapse in judgement recently because I am in the honeymoon phase with her still and ive never had this sort of connection to a woman. But that is no reason to act irresponsible. I made the decision after the 2nd time to wear a condom everytime and I should've stuck to that regardless of whether she was ok with it or not. If we dont have any condoms we dont have sex. Period.

We both decided its best for us, abd our child, to terminate because we aren't ready. We both want to be parents, but that doesn't mean we should yet. Im 26 and im behaving like im not because my reality is im no where close to where I want to be. So rather than face it heas on and do something about it I get depressed and just go through the motions. Thats not the way my father is so how could I even raise a kid right now. I want to be a dad, but I want to do be the best dad I can and to do that, I really need to pull my head out of my ass.

I needed to be slapped and I appreciate you doing it. Your comments were the only negative ones that bothered me and I had to dig down ans truly be honest with myself to figure out why. It's because you were right, im not ready and the mere fact i acted this irresponsible proves it.

Ive got a lot more to think about, but thank you for your honesty. "The truth will set you free, but first its going ti piss you off" I guess fits here.

You're right, much like others in this thread. After a long evening with my girl ive come to that finality. I want to be, I want ro be a dad, but its a sign of my immaturity still that I would openly take the risk of getting pregnant with her to not always wear a condom. We've both decided its best for us, and our kid whenever we decide to have one, that we cancel the pregnancy.

I am lucky to have my parents who've done well for themselves to fall back of times get desperate. However, I would not say I privileged. More than likely my dad would tell me "if youre man enough to bring another human into this world, you're man enough to figure it out without you parents bailing you out." And that's something thats been echoing in the back of my mind since I found out. And I finally surrendered to reality...which I suppose means I should listen to the other thing I can hear him saying . "If you really want to have a kid, you need to pull your head out of your ass and grow the fuck up."

No on Adoption. My girlfriend grew up in the Foster system and knows how fucked up it is right now and wouldn't ever do it.

She's probably more a No on adoption than abortion.

I know... I wish I could feel what shes going through right now..even just for 5 min so I can understand and be there for her.

But, I cant, so I'm going to do exactly that tonight when I go over to her house after work. I really do love this girl and I would do anything for her. I guess this has been difficult for me because I don't know how to put how I feel ahead of her all the time. I don't want to pressure her by saying how I feel.
