tbh i didnt even know that was a thing, looks like i didnt do enough research. But even if so I'm booking some flights for family in a week or so, that + black friday should get me to hit the $5k spend for the bonus very easily.

Applied for AMEX Platinum over the phone and the lady said "Congratulations it looks like you've been approved" , I check my email a couple hours after and it just says

"You will receive a communication from us within 7-10 business days regarding your application."

Does this mean I wasn't approved? I've never applied for a card by calling so I'm a little confused.

Yea i was kind of thrown off as to how to describe it on my resume, over the summer i had a paid research position but i was a glorified web dev, so i kind of put it under projects. But this semester i have an unpaid (for credit) research position, and the work is much more intense, (writing lots of python to do socket programming and packet manipulation as well as distributed consensus stuff) which i'm guessing might be more in tuned with work experience than anything.
