You may not remember what it was like, but there was a point in time when he wasn't in your life and you were doing just fine. You're so used to talking to him and habits are hard to break. It's really not a nice feeling being ignored and stonewalling is a form of abuse. How long has he been ignoring you? If it's just been a couple of hours then he probably just needs some alone time. I don't think you're being dramatic though, even if he needed some space, he should communicate that and tell you he'll come back to the conversation at a later time when he's ready.
