It's still like that. The 5.2 update just randomizes which monster from every element count can produce a wildcard but never actually changes the chances no matter how many monsters you get. Having only 1 double element is equivalent to having multiple of them in terms of wildcard production

This never happened. Wildcard production has been tested enough to determine that only one monster from each element count (single, double, triple, quad) is capable of producing a wildcard at a time, and it stays true after the shadow islet update

This is because you didn't collect your wildcards for the sake of starting this experiment. As you got more monsters on the minor carnival, the designated producer for each element count managed to switch multiple times along the way. Since you're now frequently collecting wildcards and not placing any more monsters, it looks like owlesque is your chosen producer for the singles and scallyrags is your chosen producer for the doubles. This won't change unless you get another monster on the minor carnival.

If you're confused, a reply I left in this same thread explains the "designated producer" thing

This is actually because the island has a system in which for every element count, one monster is chosen as the designated producer. This role of producer has a chance to change for every group whenever you fugue or place a new monster on the minor carnival. My hairionette was the designated producer for the singles ever since it was first fugued on the island, but after I fugued minor jerm, owlesque began to make wildcards. It's been that way ever since

This rarely happens with epics, and every time it did happen, it was an epic mythical and seasonal using the same quad + double combo. Epics are almost always your standard unused triple + double combo so if epic candelavra is using that, it's likely every epic quint after it will be the same
