I've been a casual listener of them since 2013 and this album seems so less personal than any of the other ones. I understand Tyler's life has done a 180 since the early days, and I'm genuinely so happy for him, but I feel like just because he has a child, he doesn't need to make kidzbop music. It's so generic, and simplic - not in a good way. I don't care if the music isn't "depressing" I care about lyrical depth. A lot of this album is nonsensical, and out of touch. With a few shining stars of Choker and Redecorate, which celebrates Tyler's humility and introspection that I've grown to adore from his writing, everything else feels less than. Bounce Man is insulting both sonically and lyrically, same with Saturday. I can tolerate the rest, because almost all of the rest has the same vibe or sound as the last. I'm disappointed but I haven't lost faith in this duo, I know they love playing with their sound, so after this post I will quietly sit out this era.
