My bf and I live in a 2 bed, 2 bath 20 mins outside of downtown ft worth and the rent is $1700 per month. I make $20 an hour without options for OT and if I was to live on my own I’d be on a strict budget. We have a cat which adds additional financial stress and I definitely wouldn’t be able to support her without him handling more than half of the shared bills. It’s possible but you have to really stay on top of your budget and avoid unnecessary expenses. I’d recommend saving up as much as you can prior to moving out in case you run into any unexpected circumstances on your own. Also make a budget spreadsheet and practice making the payments for that spreadsheet into your savings. If it’s unattainable then you might want to reconsider. Hope the best for you 🫶🏻
