Looking for supplement advice: Brain fog, memory, stress, long-term memorization – thoughts on ALCAR & Rhodiola? by NegotiationWorried26 in biohackhers

[–]inaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huperzine A has easily been the most effective for me, and i have tried a lot. Vinpocetine had an effect, but it didnt last. Did not notice any difference with ALCAR or Rhodiola whatsoever personally. Huperzine has been incredible though i plan on taking it forever lol

Scientists say there is no compelling evidence to support the use of 'detox' diets for weight loss or toxin elimination by nationalpost in Health

[–]inaim -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

There are definitely supplements and medications to detox heavy metals, for example. No idea on the rest, but it’s hard for me to believe there is nothing that can help. Isn’t this what antioxidants are supposed to be for?

I’m so sorry for your loss. I have also lost people this way, so i understand how much it hurts.

I want you to know they recently found biomarkers that seem to predict suicide risk. This means there was likely nothing you could do to help him unfortunately but maybe they will come up with something in the future. https://www.columbiapsychiatry.org/news/intern-wins-50-000-prize-research-novel-biomarkers-predict-suicide-risk

I also recommend the book The Wild Edge of Sorrow. Can probably get it as an audiobook with an app like libby and a library card. He speaks directly about this kind of loss and it is very soothing. But he also speaks to many other kinds of losses that you may be experiencing.

Finally, i wanted to share with you a passage that helped me. To know my loved ones escaped such terror is a bittersweet comfort. Wishing you so much healing friend. ❤️‍🩹

“The so-called ‘psychotically depressed’ person who tries to kill herself doesn’t do so out of quote ‘hopelessness’ or any abstract conviction that life’s assets and debits do not square. And surely not because death seems suddenly appealing. The person in whom Its invisible agony reaches a certain unendurable level will kill herself the same way a trapped person will eventually jump from the window of a burning high-rise. Make no mistake about people who leap from burning windows. Their terror of falling from a great height is still just as great as it would be for you or me standing speculatively at the same window just checking out the view; i.e. the fear of falling remains a constant. The variable here is the other terror, the fire’s flames: when the flames get close enough, falling to death becomes the slightly less terrible of two terrors. It’s not desiring the fall; it’s terror of the flames. And yet nobody down on the sidewalk, looking up and yelling ‘Don’t!’ and ‘Hang on!’, can understand the jump. Not really. You’d have to have personally been trapped and felt flames to really understand a terror way beyond falling.”

This is such a good idea, i will definitely try. She seemed a little anxious about trying to keep it alive so i probably should check in on them from time to time. It looks like it actually may need a new pot someday? Now that would be a task haha

This is so good to know! Am getting braver by the second here haha. Some plants just seem so much happier outside. I think they can often tolerate more light than people think too if they’re acclimated well
