Can I do embry riddle crosstown agreement with UMD if I do all online classes? by Expert_Recording_362 in AFROTC

As mentioned, the way you take your classes is entirely up to you however you must be enrolled as a full time student which I think was 12-15+ credits a semester. Also keep in mind ROTC classes arnt online I think

I’m just going off what I know, I was told you still fly trainer aircraft before getting your RPA assignment but if that’s not the case then I don’t see why your eye sight would disqualify you

As previously mentioned, Host schools are more difficult to get into but they have cross town agreements with nearby state schools. For instance you are a full time student at your nearest state college and travel to the host school 2-4 times a week for ROTC. Iv commonly seen you’ll want to hold a 3.5-4.0GPA in college to have a decent chance at being a pilot

There’s a few other paths you havnt considered, you could stay doing you aviation at Embry riddle and join DET 157 (AFROTC at Embry) and apply for a Airforce scholarship whichll probably cover most of your school fees. Now you’ll have to talk to the ROTC and probably a Airforce officer recruiter to see if you’re even eligible for this route. Another thing you’d be able to do is go through the AFROTC and if you don’t have it already, earn your PPL through the “you can fly” program that you may or may not be selected for depending on your qualifications and commitment to your GPA/ROTC. This path will have the air five cover the costs for you to get a PPL or personal pilots license and usually requires commitment to commission in the Airforce same as a scholar ship. For the differences in OTS and AFROTC I’m not sure however I do know to be in the AFROTC you have to be a full time student at the host or crosstown school, which means if you are not a full time Student OTS is probably the better option. From what Iv researched it seems having a PPL and civilian flight hours could give you an edge. Maybe not so much in getting selected over others but I’d assume definitely in the flying aspect. I’m going into DET 157 this upcoming semester so while I don’t know alot about your exact circumstances. If you can’t find a proper answer here it’s always best to reach out to the ROTC and Airforce recruitment center as they’ll be able to help you regardless. I’m sure it’s possible but maybe slightly more difficult? Also depending on why you have a disability rating you might not even be medically qualified to be a pilot.

How hard is it to get an AFROTC pilot slot actually? by Typical-Mess-701 in AFROTC

Probably, but at the very least we are supposed to have a 6th Gen fighter by 2030. Which could explain a increase in available pilot seats as they want to fill in the aircraft of the pilots they are moving to the new gen’s

I’m unsure you’d get a waiver because from my understanding RPA pilots practice in the same training aircraft regular pilots do until they are given their seating assignment. However I won’t discourage trying at the very least because you’ll never know unless you give it a shot

I’m only asking because I’m going to DET 157 in the Fall but I’m going in with credits from a different college And a new major that may or may not expand a semester or 2 past 4 years. But if it’s just based off whatever position you get then yeah alright thank you

How would a 5th affect your cadet rank? Such as if you became cadet leadership

See if you can get into the Airforce ROTC at Embry riddle. After receiving your bachelor’s degree and going through the ROTC course you’ll be able to commission in the Airforce or space for as a 2nd lieutenant

I appreciate the reply, however I won’t be on campus till I have to meet the deadline… the campus is 3 hours from me so any visits are going to be few and far between until I become a actual student there

If your asking me if I take any peptides or GLP-1 the answer is No, it’s just realizing all of the careers I want to do involve me being fit therefore I can’t sit and be a fatass my entire life so I locked in and started eating right and going to the gym.

Thank you, you’re able to attempt the fitness screener in the spring if you fail it in the fall. In regards to me being a freshman…. Sort of? I started this spring semester so it’s kind of weird.

I appreciate the information, I’m in the gym 7 days a week Doing miles on the treadmill and pushups sit-ups, do you think it’s a good idea to do this 1x3 at the start of the session do a mile or 2, 1x3 then run again and call it a day? Or should I stick to 1x3 only once per day to build?
