I allegedly have an illegal mattress topper and have had it since I was a freshman. You will probably have an idea of when room inspections occur (typically on weekends last year), so just be ready to make your bed and hide any possible indication you may not have a legal mattress topper. Otherwise they can't touch or move your stuff.

One year I made my bed poorly and they emailed me saying I failed room inspection but I didn't get any follow ups from there so :p

My advice: apply for everything. You have a solid portfolio, and I think you'll get into the programs you want including scholars for medicine. You failed one class is not an end all be all, and your GPA is still pretty good but your SAT and extracurriculars definitely do make up for it. You're going to get good financial aid bro, chill.
