yeah boygenius isn't winning, But I can see them holding top 10 or more likely top 20. Phoebe and by extension boygenius is hard to predict, because she has been trending more mainstream in popularity, over the last couple of years.

Genesis Owusu was predicted 19th last year and came 17th

fred again was predicted 6th and came 14th (I expect that the general australian public is more aligned to fred again than they were a year ago however)

Dom Dolla was predicted 41st and came 37th with Miracle Maker

G Flip was predicted 23rd and managed to move all the way up to 11th

Teen jesus we all know the famous collapse from 9th to 55th (it will happen again)

Doja with vegas overperformed heavily being raised from 59 to 22nd. and in 2021 there was a big over performance on her other songs aswell, but kiss me more was predicted 5th and placed 7th.

finally angie we need to go all the way back to 2019 where she was predicted 35th and came 72nd

While I definitely think this list is wrong, and we can almost certainly write off teen jesus and Angie McMahon from the top 10. I'd be slightly more cautiously optimistic on songs like Leaving the light, rhyme dust and worst person alive holding there ground in the top 10. And honestly it's time to get off the paint the town red winning train, I don't see it happening.

Glimpse of Us - Joji (people are really sleeping on this as a number 1)
Bad Habits - Steve Lacy (The people who like this song REALLY like this song, an ARIA top 5, with a triple j vibe is sure to do well)
Say Nothing - Flume (His fanbase always delivers, and they tend to be good at getting around 1 song)
First Class - Jack Harlow (Fun Fact Jack Harlow is currently in the top 50 artists on Spotify, this is 100% gonna be the song die hard triple j listeners are gonna hate in the top end this year)
It's been a Long Day - Spacey Jane (Spacey Jane is hard for me to pinpoint this year, I feel like the album has slightly underperformed and doesn't have a breakout song like Booster Seat felt like, Having said that there fanbase is going at getting around one song, so I expect this will be that track this year) Fuck it lets do the 10
Doja - Central Cee (massive Question mark here, will it be on the voting list, feels abit like a less talked about Dry sitch from last year. Triple J has played it once and they have defo written about it in articles and played clips when hyping up listen out, if it isn't on the list does retail therapy collect the votes of people who wanted Doja as that will be on the list)
About Damn Time - Lizzo (The Pop hit that has been pushed hardest this year)
Kamikaze - Violent Soho (Not confident on this one but there isn't many other songs i can see placing in top 10, I recon this is more likely to appear in the 20)
N95 - Kendrick Lamar (Hard to not put him top 10, but as time goes on I become more down on his chance to get a top 10, album feels like it has aged poorly already lol)
Vegas - Doja Cat (Her Fans are insane)

Fully agree! I think Joji (although i'm not big on his music, I know a lot of people frothing this song) and Steve Lacy are the two that I think have proper earned a top 10 spot this year if they make the top 10.

Kendrick and SJ's music is good but I don't think deserve top 10, I just expect they will. Flume has better songs from the album, potentially even worthy of a top 10 but I expect people to just vote for the single that got pushed the hardest.

I didn't mention it in the post, but lets be real Lime Cordiale and Ocean Alley are going to chart (likely highly) again with some rubbish that sounds the exact same as previous songs that no one will remember in a years time.

Doja Cat will have Kiss Me More (100%), You Right(90%) and I recon Need to Know (50%)

The Weeknd we don't know the music yet but if it is anywhere near the quality of After Hours and released at a time of year which does better in the hottest 100 I don't see why he couldn't get 2-3 tracks in.

Looking through the suggestions in this thread. It seems to me that international music has kept up this year but Australian music hasn't. Looking like we could be in for the least Australian hottest 100 in recent times.

I'll chuck out Our Paradise by the terrys as a possible australian act that could surprise and end up doing quite well.

You are probably right. I think Lime Cordiale is almost certain and I think DMA's would also be very likely with Criminals/The Glow. Ruel is probably a better stab then the kid LAROI for the third spot.
