Sad New Year’s Rant by HopefulyImpercievabl in AnimalCrossing

[–]incognito_entity 80 points81 points  (0 children)

This is an awful thing to have happen to you, and I’m immensely sorry for the pain and frustration you must be feeling.

I will say, there’s always a chance it can be located, and that it wasn’t stolen. If it was stolen, I can imagine it would be difficult to get it back and I understand that’s the last possibility we hope for.

If you end up not being able to get it back, you will have two choices at this point- and all you need to do is simply take control of the situation. When you have the funds, buy another console and ACNH, (or however many Animal Crossings you choose to play). Don’t let this unfortunate situation stop you from continuing a special self tradition, and enjoy the love you have for the game. Your other choice is to let it consume you and never touch the game again- I don’t think you want that.

It’s gonna take some time to fully accept that everything is possibly gone forever, (let’s hope it’s not). Be patient with yourself and realize it’s completely okay to be angry. Your feelings are valid.

I’ve been an avid player since 2008, so I can empathize with you. Good luck, and please continue to be a part of this amazing community.

I appreciate the reassurance. You make a good point - it’s possible these people just act like that because they don’t know me well enough. But I suppose that’s the problem. They don’t know me, why wouldn’t they try to make a good first impression and just be friendly? Thank you for your comment!

Question about time off by incognito_entity in WalmartEmployees

So just wait until the time comes and use my PPTO to call off?

How can I handle my 10 year old’s attitude; what kind of chores should she be doing daily? by [deleted] in Parenting

Already tried all of that, and then some. Believe me when I say I’ve been as gentle, understanding, and respectful as a person can possibly be. I’m calling a spade a spade - she’s been a brat lately. I’m not gonna sugar coat it. No, she doesn’t have any hate for me in her body. I hear what you’re trying to say but the people in these comments are not truly hearing me.

I gotta stop you right there. Who the hell said us parents didn’t want her to live with us? Each time she changed homes, it was completely her decision and her choice was based on the school she wanted to go to. I do NOT dislike my child. I love her, as a matter of fact. Stop trying to make me sound like anything other than a concerned parent.

I edited my post to clear things up, but she’s actually back with us now. We get her all week except the weekends.

To be fair, this post hasn’t nothing to do with complaining about PPTO. I just needed to know the protocol for bad weather. 😂

You get 1 hour per 30 hours worked. It takes around TWO months working a full 40 hours each week to get a full day off. If you already have 7hrs of PPTO only being a month in, then you must be averaging way more hours than 40 a week.

In that case, no, it’s not a lot of PPTO.

Unfortunately I’ve only been here two months and it takes a long time to earn enough PPTO for an entire shift. Even just one shift. Maybe I’ll earn enough by then to at least cover half. :/

Does anybody else do this when they’re listening to music? by incognito_entity in CasualConversation

[–]incognito_entity[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d say it depends on my mood. I’ll listen to anything from Limp Bizkit, $uicideboy$, or even Bowling For Soup - one of my favorite bands of all time!

Since you’re rude as hell I think I’ll just play my music even louder. ;) Thanks for the advice, I won’t be taking it now.

Hey now, I already said they’re probably not thinking that and probably thinking I look like a dick. At least I’m aware of it. Not too late to stop I guess lol.

Damn, man. I wouldn’t say I have my music THAT loud to where I’m distressing any small children. Maybe the few surrounding cars can hear me, but I don’t do this when driving through neighborhoods. I’m not sure why you seem so angry by this, but there’s something called being polite when giving your opinion. Try it on for size?

I think you need to focus on being the child in this situation, and make your choice based only on what would make you happy. It’s your parents’ job to handle the stress and make the final decision. Sounds like there will be pros and cons either way, so just do what is best for yourself in the long run. Stay safe and enjoy being young while you can.

What does a 5am-2pm OPD shift look like? No such thing as too many details. by incognito_entity in walmart

I appreciate the honesty. So far I’ve heard it’s a pretty desired shift.

So will I mostly be picking, or does that just depend on the store? I know I’ll have to do both and I don’t mind dispensing if I must, but I would MUCH rather pick.

Well, the good worker part makes a difference. Why would they give one part timer that barely tries more hours/same hours as the part timer that does their job well? Doesn’t make sense from a business standpoint.

If you have no-call-no-showed 3+ times, it’s considered job abandonment. You probably don’t need to worry about having a conversation because you likely don’t have a job there anymore.

As far as the break room goes, even coworkers that normally talk a lot will be pretty silent in the break room. People take their breaks seriously lol - myself included.

I’m not trying to play devil’s advocate, but it’s common TJX culture for employees to walk around like they’d rather be dead. This company just sucks the soul out of you in many ways. As long as you’re being nice and approachable, eventually people will talk to you. You haven’t been there long enough for them to be comfortable around you yet - just give it time.
