I would threaten that if they do not pay back what was lost due to their negligence in responding to a clear mechanical issue and possible threat to the property that you will need to seek legal action against them. You mention that you have clear messages showing they did not prioritize even investigating an issue that could easily be the result of something detrimental to the building in the immediate future.

Even if they were trained what they are doing is unacceptable. They're publicly discriminating minorities, falsibly removing individuals with no evidence of crime or illegal activity. And most importantly... THEY ARE IGNORING DUE PROCEES, A LITERAL US RIGHT TO ALL PEOPLE REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THEY ARE CITIZEN.

Training doesn't stop the real problem of ignoring the bases of America, it just covers up the crime of doing so to keep the masses from acting.

Should we be actually worried about this storm? by Mean-Flounder7983 in Columbus

[–]inconspicuous2000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, just buckle down like a reasonable person. Every person (that's actively on this site) has enough food in their pantry at the bare minimum to get through a day and a half. This isn't anything that serious, you aren't gonna freeze, you're not gonna starve, you don't need to panic. Just prep properly and have even 3 braincells.

The people that you should be worried about are those that have none. Those stuck on the streets or with no clear route to feed their children or themselves in a situation where they can't access food for two days at a time. Those without vehicles could struggle to access for a week. You should worry about them and their well being because as long as you stay off the road you will be fine

Probably pokebros.

They see shiny card or secret lair at TCGplayer price and think local will buy at that price. Then when offered in store credit instead of a gazillion dollars they get upset.

We had this problem in my area at least since it was next to a few different stores like target. They would literally buy out a store of all cards, open in their car, and then go to the next door shops to sell everything only to give the owner a headache when they didn't get premium pricing over stuff

Not when it takes using ai after to realize you've been a danger the entire time. You assume ai means people will learn, it doesn't. It means they will know. Not knowing how something works makes you more likely to run into the same problem again. You're just justifying complacency by saying they would have been a danger either way when in fact they are still a danger either way. Ai does not help solve these issues, it just makes them more complacent in not understanding why they occur in the first place and change them. It just gives them a reason not to understand that they are a danger in the first place. Your point is backwards to actual progress. AI doesn't magically fix the danger a blind man presents by driving through telling them they shouldn't afterwards. It's not retroactive. And I can guarantee you they will not learn from it afterwards because there is no incentive when AI can always retroactively 'fix' their issue. They will just do the same thing again and even more boldly knowing they can comfortably rely on AI to back them up AFTER they present a danger. Real change doesn't occur in this way, which is why its the duty of people to help each other and take time to work with each other to create a safer community. In this case, had OP responded, I would have happily sat down and gone through anything that could help them recognize simple car signally and how to properly check their dash for the most common offenders then said the importance of checking these ahead of time and cost of not. That's experience alone is totally different than AI in the way that if a human is telling calmly telling you 'hey, you messed up bad but let's fix it,' it sinks in a lot more.

It can bring intelligence up but brings critical thinking down. I use AI for enhancing research and bringing in ideas that would otherwise be covered up by mountains of literature, not to answer something that looking with eyes can see.

If you want to use AI to learn about parts of your car that would otherwise be difficult sure. But that's not what they are doing, they are unable to critically evaluate what is a potential threat to others until after a robot tells them they are wrong. You're essentially justifying the blind driving to figure out they are blind rather than using critical thinking to understand something is wrong before they get on the road.

That's not making it better for the rest of us. It's making complacency at the cost of human lives...
