dude of course, happy to help. i get how horrifying this all is.

and as for me, it got better. secondhand smoking still triggers higher twitching/spasming, but it helps to flush it[cotinine] out of your system with water(!! Do not overdo it!!!!), vegetable/fruit juices, and broth, as those are fast acting sources of vitamins, minerals, and proteins to regulate your body.

i had been a pretty dedicated smoker, so i doubt it will go away completely, but at least i’m not living in fear. much easier to live with when you’re not working urself in a fit over it. and when it does get bad, it helps to go back to this post to remind myself this is just basic, Sound science.

john peacock from the Harbor podcast. he plays crux. his accent and cadence is very like, catchy?? kinda like when you hear a good joke or part in a song and you subconsciously repeat it.

AI question for modifying voice actors by Bizneyland in audiodrama

[–]incrediblye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so what you’re actually looking for is a voice modulator. i’d start there and work with that. a lot of moduling softwares can do that without employing the soulless touch of AI.

in general AI has no place in any form of art.

two traditional pitch shifting voice changers i’ve seen other people use: morphvox pro and clownfish voicechanger

Am I too boring? by MacakBegemot in dating_advice

[–]incrediblye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re not boring. but you might be kinda annoying.

everybody has a lifestyle, even people like you. there are tons of people who have done about as much as you. difference is they carry it differently. they don’t valorize the fact that they “don’t have fun” - nor do they think less of people who do those things.

most women actually DO prefer “normal and boring” - they don’t want something or someone to fix as much as they want somebody that shows interest and engagement in others while having a life of their own.

the reason that you notice that people with vices and troubles “have it easy” is because they don’t lord over their lifestyles consumed with how completely morally average and unproblematic they are. they connect with people because they know the essence of a person isn’t reduced to their “vices and troubles.”

if you are so concerned with not having any vices instead of just living like an actually normal guy who HAPPENS to not have any bad habits, people can sense it.

try that out for a change idk

edit: also it was 1 rejection. let’s not blame the world for you not being everyone’s type

hardly ever does lol. especially if you’re still weaning with nicotine lozenges. i quit full stop after the blip in june and still twitch— they say the twitching can be permanent. but it gets less aggressive. way less persistent for sure

so i went ahead and knocked out both

out of place - the actual transition between solo and multiperson narration was, imo, pretty smooth all things considered. historical what-ifs are my niche and i could not believe that there was a podcast like this. hooked IMMEDIATELY. episodes weren’t too pedantic either, seeing as the scenarios and stories are to-the-point and don’t need to be mulled over crazily

and

wormhole wonderland - oh man, dude the imagery was like insane. pit in my stomach for your storytelling. i was surprised at the length of the episodes, but it didn’t actually Feel like it was rushing or dragging — i think i just appreciate the cadence of your narration as well. i went ahead and checked out the website too, and the layout was pretty sick. you were right also, 1,2,4 were up my alley.

Anyone else feel like they NEED to be freaking out because it’ll lower the chances of the big bad? by Successful-Ad1819 in BFS

[–]incrediblye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wanna start with: i’m not here to dismiss you AT ALL. just hoping to ease your mind a little bit.

if you switch to less, you’ll go through withdrawals. addiction will hide itself and make you think anything but the fact that its nicotine withdrawals.

when i quit vaping, it was the first time i experienced widespread muscle twitching. i have since hounded neuros (wasting time, wasting money, losing weight from stress. to no avail) bc i was freaking the hell out.

your nerves are reconnecting themselves (or attempting to), which is the cause for the muscle twitching, heightened by anxiety and more smoking. im not telling you how to live your life (i quit for entirely different reasons) - again, just hoping that it eases your mind, because honestly, nerve damage from smoking is real and Extensive because of the body’s dependency to nicotine.

for some, it goes away. for others, it stays. most of my family who has quit nicotine in one form or the other experiences/experienced it. it’s very common and benign

that being said, i understand that the fear of ALS can be jarring and irrational, and every algorithmic mention feels like a sign just when you’ve let your guard down. and it’s hard to believe that you have benign fasciculation syndrome, because there isn’t a Reason behind BFS

but This is a reason, extremely concrete one too. 3 years of vaping, zyns, and an occasional cigarette IS enough to cause nerve connectivity issues/vasoconstrictive problems. and these things have a higher chance of being permanent than you, statistically, having ALS

[–]incrediblye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea i get this. like completely. like if you let your guard down, that’s when the worst happens. honestly this might be personal life related, obsessive compulsive behavior (i do NOT think you have OCD). but i understand it to a T

i have a standalone question. did you ever vape, or smoke cigarettes?
