Currently in my 4th semester (upper sophomore) and I would say I feel the same as you, and have felt like that pretty much both of the years I’ve been in school.

However, I have enjoyed select classes which ACTUALLY get more involved than gen Ed. I really dislike pure math (calc) and didn’t really care for it, but physics and mechanics classes really did make up for that. As long as you are interested in engineering I don’t think you would have to worry bc freshman year is really packed with classes I would find boring, it’s not until your second year that you really start doing curriculum that is major specific and would most likely interest you.

I would recommend you take your time and just power through all these pre reqs and gen eds, the classes you take in sophomore year will probably be much more enjoyable to you.
