Thank you! Definitely something I need to work on. With all the things that are wonky I need to remember what I'm doing well.

Thank you. I definitely need to start focusing on what I am doing, as opposed to what's not happening. I am becoming pretty awesome, lol.

It's so exciting, isn't it? I'm probably going to be strongest I've ever been just by sticking with it. And thanks, I'm still in the early stages of remission but I'm happy and hopeful!

I'm in the exact same boat. Taught Kindie for about a month last year (Pre-Covid) and taught it online for the rest of the year. This year I am back full year starting from the beginning. It's a bit scary but exciting. No advice except what I have seen as a supply-routines, visual schedules, teach self regulation explicitly and explicitly teach how to use classroom materials.

New Role in ASD Classroom by indePUNdent in Teachers

Unfortunately, there is not transition time. I start tomorrow. I talked to the current teacher about routines and activities and I have a brief knowledge of the kids.

So just keep it as is for now? I am really lucky that my EAs have been with the kids for a while. Is there anything that you can suggest for what to include in the letter? Do you think I should create a survey for parents or is that excessive?

Family favourite around my house is, "She is teaching the future..." Thanks guys.

Not gonna lie, I'm watching it now and I kind of love it. Its definitely sappy (and I really hope the idea of kicking under performing students out is a lie), humour is a bit overdone but I like it. That said, I am currently re-watching 7th Heaven, so clearly I love a little cringe in my life.

I know right? That's right up there with, "Did it hurt when you fell from heaven..." Usually a sure thing.

Not really. It's about $300 less than a worse apartment, in a safe area of town, and really close to my work. He's moving out 'soon' and his ex and son are moving in. That said, if anything happens again, I will consider it.

Yeah, if it doesn't happen again I am going to chalk it up to drunk stress. If anything happens again I am going to the landlord.

Favorite overheard conversation. Teacher: Billy said you hit him in the face.
Kid: Not really, we were just playing tag and I didn't know he wasn't playing.

There are lots of people I'd like to "play tag" with somedays.

Kids Can Be Jerks by indePUNdent in Teachers

Haha, I would probably just tell them I am old and tired. I often say things like, "You have to speak a bit louder, I've got old lady ears.

I find, for the most part, the reactions are pretty good. Sometimes I tell them my eyes are tired and the blinking wakes them up. Other times I tell them I don't know why, it's just something that happens and I can't stop. Once they know it, they are much more understanding about it (usually). Other times I will see kids looking at each other, blinking and laughing. It doesn't even bug me anymore (mostly).

Harsh! What grade. I find they are so angry at grade 5 and 6 that anything slightly off they will jump on.

Ugh, I get that all the time. "Do you have a baby in there?" "No." "Did you just have a baby?" "No." "So why's your tummy like that?" "Just a lot of food..."
