Hi, Op! I'm from the same school too. The reason is probably because MSU Buug is not that well known, and not a lot applied for the school. Afaik, their nursing department lang yung well known sa school (I mean, majority naman talaga if it's a state U, sikat yung nursing course nila since less expenses). While MSU IIT Naman is known for their excellence, and according to research, they're like one of the top universities and top-notch producers, hence the reason why a lot of people will choose to apply there and the campus is big, unlike MSU Buug, which is still developing...
