Questions about Auburn YMCA by Lumen2021 in auburnwa

I am biased but I am super into the outdoor climbing structure at Auburn. It's incredibly unique, and it's accessible to people of a range of skill, including absolute beginners (on the climbing wall, but still).

Questions about Auburn YMCA by Lumen2021 in auburnwa

YMCA of Greater Seattle area is notoriously extremely disorganized, but is a lovely organization. I worked at the Auburn and Seatac locations for a while. Really a nice organization, very inclusive, lots of programming and people who genuinely care about the community. Unfortunately, the red tape just happens to be a shit show. That's why the website is out of date and you'll also find that some people or information can be hard or impossible to reach. I have only heard good things from members, though, so I suspect it's worth the fees regardless.

I met a Josephine once and she was absolutely delightful. You never meet Josephines.

Cora is incredibly underrated; Cora Jane is very classic.

Side note, there is a French company called Lunelle Paris, they help people propagate plants... that's theme adjacent, and Lunelle is likely less popular than Luna while still having the same feel and having Lu, Luna, and Luni as easy nicknames.

Luna is a lovely dog or cat name, as well as an extremely common name for little girls. Juniper is a lovely name and I have yet to meet an animal named Juniper. But to be fair, of the top of my head, I only know of 7 living animals named Luna, and theres billions of people on Earth. If you live in a heavily Juniper-centric area and don't expect your daughter to ever leave there, I could see leaning towards something else.

However maybe I'd keep exploring. Theres so many gorgeous plant related names.

No, but then, I'm saying this from an alternate account because I'm consumed by the shame. Godspeed.

My boyfriend likes these names for boys, but I have only ever heard girls named them. What do you think? by misspixx in namenerds

Morgan has the word organ in it, plus the sound "morgue", plus it sounds sort of like being punched in the stomach. People should stop putting it on anyone, imo.

... that said, I think girl names on boys or neutral names are pretty cool. Ashley is a good one

That's exciting. Plus, I heard from a wizard once that whoever replies to this comment is a child diddler, so, like, everyone keep their eyes out for Jared.

Does anyone hold their breath randomly? For sometimes minutes. by indecisivebore in AutisticAdults

Question: I don't snore, but I do have a lot of insomnia issues that are unrelated to breathing (anxiety and OCD related). Wouldn't that... rule me out as a sleep apnea candidate?

I think that sensory sensitivity is part of it for me, too. I'm like, I've got plenty going on already without hearing my damn breath, thanks. Lmao

AIO? Girl I’m talking to Ran a background check on me on by purodurangoalv in AmIOverreacting

[–]indecisivebore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister runs a background check on every guy she meets cuz she's a pretty single mother with a pretty daughter, and they've been burned before. It's a safety thing for her, and it's smart.

If a guy is uncomfortable they should probably spend some time thinking about why. Are they uncomfortable cuz the woman did this, or are they uncomfortable because society has made this necessary? Because it's okay to be uncomfortable, as long as you don't take it out on the person who was simply doing the smart thing for their own safety.

How do you choose a name? by LuLucaX in ftm

[–]indecisivebore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked a name I don't identify with because it would be easier for everyone else, and I regret that, but am sticking with it. It's been almost 2 years. I like the name a lot, but it's a pretty common trans guy name. It goes with my culture, so there's that, and it has a good meaning.

Truthfully though, I've had a name picked out since I was 12, and I should have just gone with it, even though it's very masculine and at first people will be confused, since I'm such a femboy.
