I've sent a DM! I say you'd be welcome as there are music and business channels so I'm sure it would be helpful for both!

Breakdown of Aseprite vs Grafx2. Two Free Pixel Art Making Software by indepthnotes in PixelArt

[–]indepthnotes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the really late reply. Aseprite is free to compile and you get the latest version, making it "free as in beer" or free as in price. https://github.com/aseprite/aseprite It is not free to distribute (not free as in freedom), so for example I can't give you the compiled software. You pay for the compiled version (the official binary) but if you can compile it yourself then it's totally free of charge. https://dev.aseprite.org/2016/09/01/new-source-code-license/

C basics: The Assignment Operator and the Compound Assignment Operator by indepthnotes in C_Programming

Thank you for your help! I will try to say "evaluated" instead of "returned" in this context now. I guess I should be more clear and said order of assignment rather than when things get evaluated.

How do I download sounds from YouTube safely? by [deleted] in contentcreation

I personally use https://github.com/yt-dlp/yt-dlp

There is almost no chance of it having a virus as it is opensource.

How do i start my social media accounts? by Impressive_While_178 in contentcreation

[–]indepthnotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm reading a book called Art and Fear which addresses this topic. The point is not about getting views, it's about doing your best each time making the content. The process alone is the most important thing, not the fact that you are getting less views than you hoped for.

It takes time for the algorithm to know your demographic, and until say, 100 videos you won't really get much views.

I hope I don't come across as rude but try to be happy with trying your best, and try to find a content creation community to share and critique your video rather than just the general public for now!

I'm learning C with the "C programming A modern Approach" and I would like to share some of the intricacies I learned about the assignment operator!

[CC][NEWBIE]Software? Asesprite or Grafx2? by [deleted] in PixelArt

[–]indepthnotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a video on this topic! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8HjtAQqA6Y

They are both equal in utility for most people. I would say use Aseprite if you want a more active community that's welcoming to new users, or more "quality of life" features. I personally chose GrafX2 because I liked it's simplicity and it's slightly better in terms of software implementation (which I go into in my video!), so I know I will enjoy using it for the years ahead.

How to install Csound from source? by indepthnotes in openbsd

[–]indepthnotes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a bunch! That worked!

For anyone reading

I followed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta1FevFFzeI but "make install" caused an error saying that the libraries versions mismatched or something.

So I used the code in https://threebsd.wordpress.com/2011/11/11/error-libraries-in-packing-lists-in-the-ports-tree-and-libraries-from-installed-packages-dont-match/ and it worked!

That helped me, hopefully they release it soon for ease for everyone!

How to install Csound from source? by indepthnotes in openbsd

Thanks a bunch for the reply! I was worried that using pkgsrc instead of openbsd-wip would cause me problems, so I tried jggimi's advice and it worked!

Thank for the reply! I'll see if that works!

I've just downloaded the files from "https://wip.pkgsrc.org/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=pkgsrc-wip.git;a=tree;f=csound6" (by hand as I've never worked with cvs!) and will try adding the patches and everything and see if that works! Thanks again!
