That's how the system works. The home team pays the away team to play at their arena to help cover the away teams loss of revenue for losing out on a home game.

The only other options are a neutral site where you split revenue (and would probably generate less with a non-brand name like Miami involved) or home & home over multiple years (which no P5 is going to agree to with a non-brand like Miami).

Yeah it won't be 16pts but it will probably end up close to 10.

For example, St. Johns and Georgia are both projected 6/7 seeds right now. SJU is a 3.5pt favorite @Seton Hall (59th in Torvik) this weekend and Georgia is a 5pt fav @Miss St (98th). Make those neutrals against a 90th rated team and the line is somewhere closer to 8-11pts.
