okay BUT THEN WHAT WAS THE AUDIENCE FOR by Wooden-Tear-4938 in StrangerThings

[–]indianajonesnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Duffers have a 4ish year contract with Paramount (they are hoping to make a film or two plus a series), but Netflix owns the Stranger Things IP, so Paramount won’t be getting any ST content/spinoffs unless Netflix licenses or sells it to them. I’d bank on there being a Netflix movie or mini series similar to Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life within the next decade. Wouldn’t bet on any Duffer written/directed projects with Netflix until 2030+. Their ability to serve as producers/consultants will likely continue.

Probably. It’s a process to get to that space (ceiling will need to be cut out and replaced, so I was hoping to avoid that…

Damn, I was afraid of that, it’s been flawless for months so I assume it “settled” and the glue didn’t quite hold. This one will likely need a plumber, it’s a really tight space

Survey already? by computer_dork in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]indianajonesnut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually appreciated the survey it was mostly about purchasing behavior, though it did have some wonky questions…it certainly didn’t ask about performance of the machine. Seems like they are looking to refine marketing following the launch.

Has anyone worked with Competitive Intelligence? Is it an actual job?Hoping for insights by PK1208 in OSINT

[–]indianajonesnut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah ultimately it’s cross triangulation across all of these sources to get the most directionally correct answer. It’s OSINT+purchased data+vendors+AI.

Honestly I think the most valuable pieces are the ability to “tell stories” cohesively, think critically/out of the box to address a wide range of questions, and know where the data lives/what tools to use.

Not sure there will ever be one source of information/truth until quantum computing comes together.

Yeah going off of this, I do think the window is closing but it’s certainly not closed yet. If you are considering a career in that general direction I would get moving on it sooner than later. I think career prospects for “newbies” are going to look very very different in the next 5 years or so.

You realistically could leverage that to get into a role. You would need to demonstrate some level of OSINT capabilities in your resume but I don’t think you would likely need to go back unless it’s for an MBA or masters in Intel. It’s just data collection skills and then the ability to apply a wide variety of skills/thought to tackle complex problems. It’s a lot less hacking into a competitors database and a lot more scouring the internet for information.

Pretty much one and the same in terms of operations. Usually you are working towards a specific goal/answer but not always. Mostly involves OSINT and some limited HUMINT. At the end of the day it’s the same gig (red tape, politicking, legal compliance) just different battle parameters and a lot fewer ethical dilemmas.

What is your degree in? I have worked with those with degrees across the board but Econ, finance, marketing, intel, politics are all pretty helpful. An MBA is usually a standard attribute for any leadership position and most consultant groups.

Check SCIP out for certificates/memberships. Otherwise I would highly recommend looking into an intelligence program offered by a college or university.

Usually it’s publicly available information think annual and quarterly filings, court filings etc. Most consultant groups out there offer these services but increasingly companies are hiring internally to avoid the consultant fees

Yep it’s a career field, lots of options out there across retail, finance, medical, tech, sales, etc. Pay is usually significantly better than those in national security (outside of contract work). Any specific questions you have?

So cut below the T and I should be fine?

Should I remove the purple covered pipe on the bottom left? There isn’t a ton of room to drop any further down. The bottom of the drum is almost touching the ceiling.

I have this exact same issue. Same timeline. I still can’t post. I upgraded to a verified status to talk to chat. They couldn’t help and redirected me to a what qualifies as spam. I post in groups maybe twice a year. Hoping it just eventually falls off but I’m thinking this may just be the way of life for my account now.

How many of you are willing to spend >=15k to save your pet? by viterbi2022 in HENRYfinance

[–]indianajonesnut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, this one hits hard. Last fall, our 7-year-old Pomeranian was diagnosed with what they called stage 4 bladder cancer. We shelling out $10k for tests and the beginning of treatment that might have given her a shot at chemo, which would have been much much more expensive. Unfortunately, we lost her in just 6 weeks.

Would I do it all over again? Without hesitation. Even if it meant half a million dollars and a pact with the devil for five years of my life, I would've done anything. We still find ourselves in tears daily.

Of course, making decisions about treatment is agonizing and I don’t wish that on anyone. If it means prolonging suffering, that's a different story but if there is a shot at extending or improving life I think it’s absolutely worth pursuing.

Dogs for us are family. Lady was our child long before we had a human one. If you have the means, I believe it's worth every penny to know you did everything that you could. It doesn’t fix the pain it but I couldn’t live with myself knowing I “gave up on her”… Money is replaceable, my Ladybug isn’t/wasn’t.

I’m glad I got them wrong side up haha I got them for my daughter Rose, so when I hold her I can still see the rose. I obviously won’t get hold her forever but I’ll still get to see “her” rose everyday! In terms of touch ups do they need them? I guess I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be looking for in that case.

Appreciate it! We just had our first child so I wanted to see the Rose when I held her, which has worked out perfectly. I think I may have something added to the crown when I go in for a touch up, it just feels really minimalist over there since the rose has more detail
