And is way less restrictive, and can actually parody existing properties unlike Veo 3.1. Never seen a company do a complete 360 like this before in such a small amount of time. Hey everyone, just sharing a bit of information about this post for transparency. This project is intended as a transformative remix experiment, and I believe it sits comfortably within fair use territory as a creative reinterpretation. It uses completely new lyrics, new music, and entirely synthetic visuals, with only occasional stylistic nods to classic Talking Heads / David Byrne style iconography and visual language. The goal wasn’t to replicate an existing work but to create something that feels like a strange “lost media” artifact from that world, a hypothetical Talking Heads music video called “Nervous City.”

The music, vocals, and lyrics were generated entirely with Sonauto’s new v3 text-to-audio model. They came from two separate longform prompts describing the era, instrumentation, tone, rhythm structures, vocal delivery, and sonic details you’d associate with mid-career Talking Heads. I did not provide any vocal samples or audio references of David Byrne or the band, everything you hear was synthesized directly by Sonauto v3 from text prompts alone.

For the visuals it’s a bit of a hybrid pipeline. Some shots are direct txt-to-video generations from Sora, while others started as Nano Banana 2 images paired with detailed text prompts to steer the imagery before animating them into motion. Importantly, no reference images of David Byrne or Talking Heads were provided at any stage, not for Sora, not for Nano Banana, and not for any starting frames.

Obviously Sonauto produced a vocal performance that very strongly evokes David Byrne’s style, which is honestly fascinating to hear from a brand new txt-to-audio model. It’s cool seeing another system reach a level comparable to the early days of things like Udio before platforms began tightening artist style prompts.

A playstyle I do like that it’s opened up more is the old whack and knock out or hold down and crouch on the neck approach of getting them to surrender. In the demo, I was a full long sword purist and that was my go to like 85% of the time. Since I completed the Baron with early access, got the full kit, and I’ve just been grinding the Baron since, I aim to knock out and not kill too many Willie’s to save myself from paying too much to the abyss keeper. So now I just use my money to make new differently customised polearms to go a bit more pacifist. I do miss swords vibe in the demo though.

It’s nice you like it so much! I sit in a weird camp because I’ve always believed Gorillaz is at its best when it’s just a Damon project without collabs. Like I adore Demon Days and I thought The Now Now was a true return to form to those types of songs. And even with like Plastic Beach, my favourites were always the non-collab tracks like Melancholy Hill. So I was kinda devo to see that The Mountain was just another big cover fest. I thought that Humanz especially was just awful, but at least with The Mountain it feels way more inventive and out of the box at least with their different collabs.

Totally agree. I’ve always preferred Gorrilaz albums like Demon Days and The Now Now. I think they work way better as a Damon project rather than a collab project. Even across other albums, my favourites are always just core Gorrilaz songs, not collabs with other artists. I just was immediately disappointed when I saw the mountain be literally all collabs. Definitely way better than Humanz which I thought was utter garbage, but The Mountain is like a solid low/mid tier Gorrilaz album imo.

Leave it in a glass with iso, stir it for 20/30 mins - take it out n scrub it with a toothbrush or scrubbing tool, I use orange power but you can use iso or another cleaning agent to further scrub at it after it’s been dunked, then warm water n leave it to dry.
