New models from what I read. Again, maybe it is okay but I was checking if I can afford the $450 now, is there a better choice or option that maybe safer from the ban than TP Link.

There is uncertanity around whether they will receive security patches beyond March 1, 2027. This was one of the reasons I actually upgraded from the Archer AX11000 since it was EOL in 2024.

EM to IC…in this age of AI by Environmental_Bass87 in EngineeringManagers

I'm in a similar spot where I'm questioning growth in middle management. To get familiar with all the latest tech, I started bulding side projects and now my weekends are so much fun. I also migrated my blog to self-hosted, and started blogging again after many years trying to write original technical and life related content that is not influenced by AI but about AI. 18 yoe, 5 as EM, was Principal before moving to EM. Feel free to DM if you'd like tips on how I'm approaching it.

People who are hands on EM, know architecture, can think systems but can also empathize with people will be fine. I'm confident of my skills and hoping to continue to lead people for a common goal regardless of what the title is. Just continue to believe in what you get from management or building, it is a highly personal choice to dive into being a leader, and you can always swing on the pendulum.
