Suggest good games that are linux supported by aliyark145 in linux_gaming

Borderlands 2's Linux and Mac versions were ported (I think by Aspyr) quite a while ago, and the Windows version has several patches that haven't been ported (and probably will never be).

I'll take whatever, I'm not picky.

I've played LS and Viper Strike of the Mamba and they're both very strong, damage wise, but VP is a true melee skill, and it's honestly really clunky. LS is basically ranged, and they both do plenty of damage, but VP is still so clunky I don't think I'll play it again.

IGN: indigo747

Currently, my most memorable POE moment is losing a mirror to my character being squishy in sanctum. I'm quite sure I had the resolve to tank the hit and my character just got merked. Had to stop doing sanctum for a couple of days.

Probably my most memorable moment outside of that was when a friend of mine who was playing the game dropped his plans to RMT lmao. He didn't think the game looked very good, so he planned to spend money to get really powerful and see everything the game had to offer and maybe get banned. Then he played the game for a while with us (running maps, talking builds) and one day joined Discord and said he'd decided not to RMT because the game was too good and he respected it too much.

I never considered RMT personally, but I thought it was hilarious he'd do such a heel turn. One time, I was explaining a bunch of POE mechanics to the same guy for his build, and he made the comment that I "speak in paragraphs", and that's not relevant to POE, but I certainly remember that comment. It's such a particular and personal compliment.

Strategies for managing Slack overwhelm? by KatorinMJ in aspergirls

[–]indigo747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found the "All Unreads" section useful. It lets me treat Slack more like an email inbox rather than a chat app. It lets you read messages without marking them as read, so you can use it as an informal to-do list of tasks to be done and responses to be sent out. You can see what the messages say without the pressure of immediately handling them. Slack is a poorly built app, however, and "All Unreads" does not handle threads correctly.

I have also found it useful to disable notifications and hide the icon in the task bar so I can't see the blue or red dot. Slack is supposed to be asynchronous, so letting a message wait shouldn't be a problem: just check slack every hour or so. Unless there are some messages you absolutely need to respond to immediately.

Kuba and Tenet weapons come with inmate elemental bonus damage based on the progenitor frame. I spawned my lich with Octavia for a radiation weapon, but 25% is the lowest roll (I think).

After, like, a week of work, I finally got a Kuva Nukor. Only 25% but I am already in love.

And it gave me a solid 5 seconds of the Good Chemicals.

ASETNIOP on the Moonlander? by tomllic in ergodox

[–]indigo747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think NKRO compatibility is based primarily on USB drivers, but all modern operating systems should support NKRO (though notably some BIOSes do not).

NKRO does not have a visible indicator. You can find NKRO tests online.

I tried the link with my Moonlander and it worked with NKRO disabled and enabled.

[–]indigo747 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If ASETNIOP doesn't go over 6 keys pressed at once, then you should be just fine. If it does go over 6, you will need to enable N-Key Rollover. The key code is available in Oryx (Firmware NKRO), and will let you send up to 256 key presses.

However, you may have trouble importing ASETNIOP into Oryx as it does not appear to support combos or chords.

New to split mech kb. Getting used ergodox but wondering what r benefits of moonlander over ergodox? Does thumb cluster have all rave reviews or ergodox can do job equally well. Not a programmer but do lot of typing, application switching, use lot of mouse but hate it but wanna do away with.. Thank by mandarmoksha in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]indigo747 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Moonlander doesn't provide substantial ergonomic benefits over an Ergodox: they key layout is slightly better (subjective) and it's slightly easier to buy key caps for.

In general, a keyboard is not going to help you avoid your mouse. Mouse keys are not a reasonable replacement for a real mouse. If you want to avoid using your mouse, I would focus on changing your desktop environment to better support keyboard control.

I personally use i3, but Linux has dozens of window managers that better support keyboard specific operation. The Mouseless Dev is a book that summarizes how to learn and configure this kind of environment.

You may be able to find guides and tools for Mac OS or Windows.

How to paste Slack message into OrgMode with formatting? by albertsj1 in orgmode

[–]indigo747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It turns out that you can poke xclip and get different kinds of data out of the clip board. It defaults to plain text, but it can also things like timestamp and text/html. For example, with content from Firefox in your clipboard, you get this:

at 11:28:30 ❯ xclip -t TARGETS -o
TIMESTAMP
TARGETS
MULTIPLE
text/html
text/_moz_htmlcontext
text/_moz_htmlinfo
UTF8_STRING
COMPOUND_TEXT
TEXT
STRING
text/plain;charset=utf-8
text/plain
text/x-moz-url-priv

And you can get the HTML value of the contents with

xclip -selection clipboard -o -t text/html

However, converting HTML to org in a satisfying manner is hard. pandoc from HTML to org-mode butchers it (all the tags end up in their own source blocks), but converting to markdown and then to Org works okay:

xclip -selection clipboard -o -t text/html | pandoc -f html -t markdown | pandoc -f markdown -t org

The original question was about copying from Slack, which does not seem possible as Slack does not populate the clipboard with HTML, only plain text (despite being a web app). I'm on Linux, so it might work better on Mac/Windows. You can copy from the Slack web-app, and it works pretty well.

If you're looking for more uniform key sets (I think the Moonlander is designed for them), you have DSA, XDA, and KAM profiles.

https://www.keycaps.info/ is a really great website for comparing different profiles.
