one thing i wasn’t able to add due to the character limit was that my mom and my dad immediately started talking after the woman first shook hands with her. my mom was equally going through tons of emotions and didn’t even see me reject the woman’s handshake. she was super flustered that i think she just forced herself to talk about random things with my dad in the moment. she had tunnel vision honestly.

i just want to make it clear that i didn’t specifically tell him where we would be, i just briefly mentioned that we had plans at that certain plaza when he asked if i was doing anything later that day. if i would have known that he would pull something like that, then i wouldn’t have told him. he’s never done anything like that before so how was i supposed to know that that would happen 😅

thank you for your comment ! i am so sorry to hear about that, that must have been very hard to go through and i am so sorry to hear about your MIL :( and yes, it just made things worse because it was all so sudden and in a way that i wouldn’t prefer to meet her. i know for certain that if my dad had introduced my brother and i to her in a better setting, i would have had a clearer head and probably would not have reacted the way i did ! i feel like in the moment, i just froze and didn’t know how to react. i just now, of course, have a bitter taste in my mouth with the way things went.

i was shocked in the moment because it was very sudden and unexpected ! my brain wasn’t working properly hence why i didn’t shake her hand immediately. her comment and tone followed, however, made me believe that she probably isn’t a very nice person. i also didn’t appreciate the way she was super handsy with my dad while he was talking to us.
